I'm a man. You all love a makeover, so I'm hoping I can inspire you to help me. I'm in my 30s, and I have to wear suits every day, so I have the more "formal" look down. I also know how to pair a t shirt, sandals and shorts for the "casual" look, but I really need to beef up my "smart casual" clothes.

By "Smart Casual", I'm looking for something that I can dress to impress with on a first date, or something suitable for dinner out with family, or something that is stylish but between casual and business dress. I live in Southern California, so I don't need overcoats or anything warm weather, although stylish sweaters are okay.

Can you help? Please provide links if you can. I am always looking for slimming looks that make me look taller/thinner - i.e., coordinating colors, vertical stripes, V necks, etc.
