  • What is the name of this book?

I don't remember much about it, but it involved a boy sorceror and a girl vampire attending a magic school/academy. There were sequels. Does anyone know what it might be?

  • Problems with mutations/Evolution?

Okay, so a creationist I know is making two arguments against evolution. The first is that mutations, which is how evolution works, are far too rare to make new species even in the 4.6 billion years earth has been around.

The other is that Evolution must be accepted by faith, as due to the fact no one was around back then, and that we can t prove 100% these processes have always worked the same, it is accepted with faith just like Creation.

Are there easy answers to disprove these, or are they more difficult/not be solved yet?

  • What would an independent Native American nation looked like?

Specifically, a Tecumseh Confederacy that achieved recognition and Independence. What would its government be like, its currency, culture, and way of life? How much would they convert to westernization, and how much would they remain like traditional Native Americans? With an independent Native American nation, how would that affect the North American continent?

  • How many nations still legalized slavery in 1860?

I have heard the USA was one of the last nations to outlaw slavery, which I don't doubt, but I can't find out how many nations still did legalize slavery by then, and who had outlawed it. Colonies and parts of nations legalizing it but not the mother nation or all of it count, just please specify. All info is welcomed!

  • Is being a Vegetarian actually or relatively healthy?

Basically, I've read up on this some, and both sides seem to be claiming things that directly negate the others. My question is, is being a vegetarian/vegan actually healthy, or is it only healthy when compared to eating processed meat with chemicals in it?

If I were to eat only organic meat with no chemicals as well as fruits/veggies, would that be healthier than a vegetarian? And if not, then why have humans been hunter-gatherers for so long, and why were they healthier than the farmers of 5-10,000 years ago? Not trying to be rude, actually curious on what is the healthiest.

Recently I've been losing faith to the point I'm not even sure I'm still believing. Please help regain it in any way you can, wether through facts, emotion, etc.

Please. I want to believe in god. I want to believe in life after death. I want to believe that religion is true.
