My rescue dog has major separation anxiety. I have had her for a month now, and EVERY day I have come home to a diarrhea and pee mess in her crate that she has laid in or smeared around her crate. The crate is big enough that she has room to go potty on one side and lay on the other if she really had to go, but she has no qualms about laying in it or digging at it.. so I don't think a smaller crate would be of any help. When I step outside, she tears down curtains, tries to go through screen windows, jumps at doors, and screams bloody murder.. I have tried the behavior modification things to make my departure less stressful and less obvious to her, but it doesn't seem to help. The vet suggested fluoxetine to see if that helps with the anxiety, because her bowls just can't take much more.. and neither can I! Even on boiled chicken and rice, and deworming medication, she has not improved. I am sure it is the anxiety that causes her to soil her crate.

I just want to know if anyone else has tried prozac for their dog, what their circumstances were, and if it helped. And of course, if there were any side effects.

Is anyone else irritated with some of the questions that show up in the pets section?? What kind of irresponsible, ignorant pet owners out there take the time to go onto yahoo answers and ask things like,

1. My dog hasn't moved for three days. Should I be concerned?

2. My cat's eye is falling out of the socket.. what should I do?

3. I think my puppy's leg is broken.. what should I do?

4. My cat has been vomiting blood for several days and hasn't eaten anything since.. what do I do?

5. My dog got hit by a car and his intestines are hanging out but he is still alive... WHAT SHOULD I DO??

For god sakes, for those kinds of questions, pick up the phone and call the vet... If you aren't sure wether it is a problem or not, ask the VET as soon as the problem arises. It doesn't cost a thing to make a phone call, and could ultimately save your pet from needless suffering.

It pains me to think people are dumb and careless enough to come on here and wait for answers to their questions while potentially putting their animal's life in jeopardy rather than calling their vet.

Am I being too harsh, or do other people think that a lot of these people shouldn't even HAVE pets if they can't take care of their pets' basic needs?

I am going through depression (currently getting help) but I absolutely CRAVE sugar. I hate to use the word addiction, but I feel like I'm addicted to sugary junk foods. Like, I just don't feel right until I eat junk... I know it's awful but I am having such a hard time breaking the cycle. Any tips on how to get off of the sugar crave?? I find when I just stop eating all that crap that I go nuts for it even worse after a week or so.

Does anyone believe in these secret societies - religious, political, etc. that supposedly have a lot of power and deceive us in an effort to conceal important information and ultimately control us all? (and no, I don't mean the media or the gvt., lol) If so, why? I find this hard to believe, but I just want your thoughts.

Can anyone give me tangible or (scientifically) measurable evidence of god, or a supreme being?

Has anyone been in the Peace Corps? If so, were you happy with your experiences or no?
