  • (See BQ questions) what does calling someone 'one of the most popular WWE Champions of all time' mean?

One of the most popular guys in history that held the WWE title or one of the most popular guys that have been champion in WWE (not necessarily 'WWE Champion') like IC, US or Tag team champ for example?

BQ: Daniel Bryan or CM Punk?

BQ2: John Cena or Hulk Hogan in their primes?

  • Simple question here...?

Hi guys. Just need you to do me a favor here. When WWE described Jeff Hardy as "one of the most popular WWE Champions in history" in their bio of him on his Alumni page, did they mean he was one of the most popular guys when he WWE Champion, or just one of the most popular guys overall? And what does 'WWE Champions' mean here; a WWE Champion (like John Cena is now) or any Champion in WWE (i.e IC or US or tag-team). Thanks in advance. Here's the link: http://www.wwe.com/superstars/jeffhardy it's in his bio in the first paragraph

  • Are you all sure that CM Punk is the best in the world?

In all fairness, he's a great in-ring talent and probably the best mic worker on board at the moment. His reign as WWE Champ stood out as his most unsung accomplishment, but would he have achieved these impressive feats if it weren't for the likes of John Cena, Jeff Hardy, Undertaker, etc? Punk's first World Championship reign in 2008 flat-out sucked and he's never proven himself to be a credible champ at the time. A few months go by and Hardy wins the World title at Edge's expense at Extreme Rules in '09, Punk cashes in and becomes new champ. He turns heel a few months later and ultimately played an integral role in Hardy's (kayfabe) departure from WWE. His feud with Jeff proved to be Punk's premier main-event rise. Punk essentially needed a top-tier face & an incredibly over guy in Jeff to commence his main-event status as a top heel. I wouldn't want to say that Hardy 'made' Punk, but he definitely helped bring Punk into a new standard as a main-event star. Two years later, Punk cuts a brilliant promo slating McMahon for accordingly underutilising him. Punk would once again use Cena's popularity and esteem as the company's top guy to skyrocket his career all the way to the top yet again. Would Punk have become a reliable main-event mega star had it not been for Hardy & Cena's popularity? Punk is widely viewed as one of the greatest WWE Champs of all time which was justifiably down to the Management's vast faith in him, which may also be due to Hardy & Cena handing him a huge chance to establish himself as a top heel. On top of all that, is he really the BEST IN THE WORLD? Wrestling wise, I'm of the viewpoint the likes of Daniel Bryan, Chris Jericho, Austin Aries are slightly ahead of him. Furthermore, he was never a main-event draw like Jeff Hardy, John Cena, Rock, Stone Cold, Hogan, etc despite having one of the longest WWE title reigns of the modern era. WWE is not about the wrestling, it's about money. You have to solidify yourself as a top money draw if you're really willing to get the fans taking you industriously as a champ. At the end of the day, there's no disputing how a sensational talent Punk is. I'm not even to vituperate Punk's unplayable feats throughout his tenure, or anything of the sort, I just thought he needed to rival the promotion's top guys to get where he is today. I definitely am a HUGE fan of Punk and his mic work and hopefully he has his contract renewed by next year. He's gold.

And what does 'WWE Champions' mean here; a WWE Champion (like John Cena right now for example) or any Champion that's working in the WWE like Dean Ambrose & Curtis Axel as US & IC Champs right now . Thanks in advance. I know it may sound a piteously straightforward question but I need to clarify that issue for my little brother.

  • Jeff Hardy's in-ring abilities are limited?

If you're of such thought, you might have to take a deep look at this video; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5bb7WWpO4g

I've just seen someone on Y!A claim Jeff Hardy's talent-less. That is by far the most asinine statement I've ever seen on here - it all but proves the guy has little knowledge about wrestling as well as it does show he's seen very little of Jeff to make such poor judgement on his in-ring work. Hardy is simply insane. He's incredibly talented, and he's NOT overrated. Come on, I'm aware of the fact his reputation has been severely tarnished thanks to his drug demeanors but for ANYBODY to disparage his talent in the ring is intolerable. Moreover, many have stated he has only five moves. LOL, that's absolutely ludicrous. The guy may have five SIGNATURE moves - and from what I've noticed here since my arrival is that most of the people do not seem to think highly of Jeff. Drug issues aside, he might have secure a top 20 finish regarding the greatest superstars of all-time. Hardy is a six-time World Heavyweight Champion. Before he departed from the WWE, he overtook Cena's status as the #1 top guy. Many think he's not a great wrestler, but that's not even close to accurate.

BQ: WWE or ROH in terms of talent outputted?

  • Does anybody here happen to think Jeff Hardy was more popular than John Cena in 2009?

Jeff was at the peak of his popularity and was one of the WWE's biggest draws before his spell came to an end towards the end of the summer of 2009.

BQ1: What did you make of his feud with Punk? It definitely helped Punk cement a main-event status, in my view.

BQ2: Do you think Kofi Kingston deserves a world title shot at some point in the near future?

  • Interesting tries aren't they....?

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern & Dortmund ponderously tipped to cruise onto the semifinals. Winner of Barcelona v PSG square off against winner of Bayern v Juve. Do you honestly reckon Barcelona are capable of progressing to the final with potential Bayern/Juve meeting? With Barca's subpar defensive qualities and Pique/Mascherano's continuous errors, I can't see Barcelona staging a CL final push, though I may be wrong as long as they have a goalscoring machine in Leo Messi AND a superb midfield trio in Busquets/Xavi/Iniesta.

BQ: Am I the only who happens to think it's completely wrong to write Galatasary off? They've been doing brilliantly well as of late and for them to secure a top eight European finish is a top achievement.

  • Does it sound like Messi's record is a bit overhyped?

Messi is potentially the best player to have ever graced the game, undoubtedly. He clearly twinkled in 2012 and the memory remains vivid of his elegant destruction of Leverkusen' defense in last season's Champions League. However, does the fact that he bettered Muller's tally of 85 goals in a calendar year make him a cert for the Ballon d'or? Well, probably given that it's almost impossible for a player to reach that mark, but I'd argue differently. His record had done Barcelona no favors as they ended NEARLY empty-handed despite them having won Copa del Rey. It's pointless because if you take the look at the year Muller held the record for most goals scored in a year, he won major trophies. I'm totally confounded by the fact plenty think he'll win although the voting for the award closed even before he broke Pele's record. Consequently, how would the journalists/captains/NT coaches rate Messi's year BEFORE the guy breaking Muller's record? You do know Ronaldo's year was superior until Messi surpassed Muller's goal mark. Then again, as soon as you edge towards Ronaldo in Ballon d'Or, you feel like a traitor to the magisterial Messi. For me, Leo is the best player ever, but fact remains that this year's Ballon d'Or should go to Cristiano, in my view to say the least.

BQ: Do you think Real have already been beaten to La Liga by Barcelona given Barca are 13 points ahead?

  • What did you make of Modric's majestic display against Mallorca?

Just when Hassan and Travis accused him of being a garbage pub league skipper, he silenced critics tonight I see. He started almost every single goal-scoring attempt, rarely gave the ball away, made some fap-worthy skills, showed his great control on the ball and literally bossed the game midfield-wise. What I'm trying to say is that you can't just judge a player by his stats. I never really thought Pirlo, Iniesta, Xavi, Zidane were 'garbage' though they'd always been horrendous statistically speaking.

BQ1: Who would win the MotM award in your humble thoughts? Higuain/Modric for me. CR was superb though.

BQ2: Do you think Modric could secure a starting spot even when Khedira returns? I feel he will offer much creativity as time passes but Khedira has largely improved and developed into a top class holding mid under Mou so it's highly unlikely for me. What do you reckon? Thanks!

  • Is it just me or is Hazard really superior to Neymar?

Neymar is a great player and obviously a huge talent to be reckoned with, but imo Hazard is a bit more prolific and fruitful. Neymar is undoubtedly one of the best dribblers in the world, but Hazard is very productive in my thoughts. The guy serves assists, dribbles well, creates true chances for teammates, scores when it matters and knows how to win you a whole game when it might seem the opposition will defeat you. Who do you think is better?

BQ: Who would you prefer to have in your team between RVP and Falcao? Top 2 strikers in the world as far as I'm concerned.

BQ2: How would you rate Casillas when asked about his status/case as one of the all-time greats? He'd secure a top 5 finish in my book. Where would you rank between the best of all time?

  • Ronaldo and the woodwork, still a better love story than twilight?

Lol Ronaldo is the unluckiest guy on the planet. He managed to hit the post 8 times in the last five game with Portugal. He's been brilliant tonight though; served two assists, hit side-nets, posts, created a couple of chances for teammates..

  • What do you make of this article about the more deserving player of the Ballon d'Or?

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/mag...

BQ: Do you guys (Barca fans) realize Messi has yet to edge out Ronaldo statistically speaking in terms of goals in 2012 (Calendar year, which is the Ballon d'Or all about) so the Messi record-breaking 73 strikes argument is completely invalid because, in fact, both share the same amount of goals (64 goals each in 2012) so Ronaldo OBVIOUSLY edges out Messi for this year's award..

BQ: Do you think Pirlo could make the final list which will be announced on September 13?

  • So can we all now reach agreement that Ronaldo deserves the Ballon d'Or this year?

Majestic performance from him tonight. Tracked back to defend alongside teammates, scored a wonderful goals (just couldnt get over that back-heel flick over Pique). Well he literally raped the Barca defense tonight. Messi had a good game, but Ronaldo should win the Ballon d'Or, no-brainer.

  • Are the FIFA 13 rankings based on each player's performances last season?

I mean how's Xavi that high, he's only below Ronaldo and Messi and he had a poor season with Barcelona and Spain. Also Ronaldo should have been rated higher than Messi because CR7 had the better season obviously. Thiago Silva ahead of Pepe is a bit questionable as well.

That's how it should have been; Top 10:

    1- Ronaldo 94

    2- Messi 93

    3- Iniesta 91

    4- Pirlo 90

    5- Casillas 89

    6- Drogba 88

    7- Ramos 88

    8- Yaya Toure 87

    9- Ozil 87

    10- Pepe 86

I'm not sure if they put those ratings based on last season or based on the general performances of those players in the recent years..

  • From scale 1 to 10: How much do you respect the genius Iniesta?

Still cannot say he's superior to Zidane, but could be comparable to him though. What a genius performance from him. I was absolutely amazed by his scintillating displays tonight. Have always seen him outplaying Albiol throughout, set up Xavi's third goal and created so many great chances for the rest of the players. The guy is completely unbelievable at best, would give him the Ballon d'Or for that match. However, I still insist Ronaldo deserves it for his extraordinary displays for club and country, but Iniesta MUST secure a top 3 finish for his unstoppably great Euros and also if he keeps up the good work until the end of 2012. I really respect him so much, MM must be surprised, but your guy is an absolute genius..

Who do you think will win?

BQ: Do you agree with Iniesta's inclusion? I mean seriously, Pirlo has had a better season than him. Iniesta just had a tremendous Euros but somehow somewhat an average season with Barca though.

  • There are three players who were superior to Leo Messi last season..?

It's just my opinion, I'm only saying so since all of those three guys I'll mention were just more pivotal to their teams than Messi was, but that actually doesn't hide the fact that Messi is the best player in the world in general and by a distance too.

Ronaldo: Led Real Madrid to their first league title in four years, led Portugal to Euro Semis, stepped up in almost all of the big games last season and notched 60 goals in all competitions, was incredibly consistent as he scored against all 19 rival in La Liga.

Casillas: Played a role in Real Madrid's league triumph, captained Spain to Euro2012 glory, showed up when it mattered most specially at the Euros making some incredible saves that have saved Spain's ambitions of winning the tourney.

Pirlo: Was Serie A's top assist-man and best player, led Juventus to league trophy with an undefeated season, led Italy to Euro final and was arguably the competition's best player alongside Iniesta.

Ronaldo, Casillas and Pirlo were all better than Messi last, IMO. Remember, in my opinion. They were obviously more pivotal for their sides and have actually stepped up on the biggest stage, in the big games, when it mattered most..

  • Kaka has managed 3 assists tonight..?

What a comeback by Kaka. He was impressive tonight against Milan as he set up Ronaldo's sitter, Ramos's fantastic header and Callejon's last goal of the game. How will Mourinho react to his stellar displays tonight?

BQ: What did you think of Ronaldo's performance? I heard the fans were chanting "Balon de Oro 2012" at him right before leaving..

  • Ronaldo tops this year's Goal50..?

    http://www.goal.com/en/slideshow/2/50

Still a bad list, but I do think Ronaldo is the right winner he deserved it. What I would like to argue with is that Messi deserved second spot, I was just surprised he didn't even make the top 2. He had to be ranked above Casillas, the guy scored over 70 goals, it's praiseworthy, but he surely does not deserve to clinch first spot from Ronaldo.

BQ: How would you rate that list? For me, 4/10 lol.
