  • Are there websites where I can find people in my area with similar interests?

I am in the midst of a divorce and am starting to get into the dating world again, other than dating websites (I've had no luck with those) are there any sites where I can find people in my area that have similar interests (ex. cooking, reading, etc...)?

  • What is an interviewer looking to hear when they as "tell me about yourself"?

I always get stumped on this question. Do they want to hear my qualifications? I always assume not, as they've seen my resume. What do I tell them when I am asked this question?

  • Where do I begin, in getting a divorce?

I have decided to call it quits with my husband and have moved away from him. He's in Florida (the last place we resided together) and I am in New Hampshire. In what state should the divorce be filed? Do I need to have him served, or can I tell him to expect the papers and ask him to sign them? Do we need a court proceeding if we can agree on what to do with our assets and liabilities? I can't afford a lawyer, either. That is why I am asking these questions of you folks!

  • Is lying a good enough reason to leave him?

My husband has an issue with lying, he's lied to me in the past, and I've let it slide, always telling him "if you lie once more...I'm gone". Its not about little stuff either, he once concealed a speeding ticket from me, didn't pay it and ended up with a suspended license. He's done the same thing again recently, got a speeding ticket concealed it for two months and almost ended up with his license suspended again. He's out of the job, and so am I. When I asked him last night if he checked any of the websites for work, he told me "yes, I checked craigslist but, I didn't really see anything". When it was my turn to use the computer, I checked the history and lo and behold, he hadn't checked craigslist at all, he'd been playing games. I hate being lied to, and he knows this. I'm feeling like I don't want in on this relationship anymore. Is his lying a good enough reason for me to divorce him?

  • Vow Renewal Party Save the Dates?

My husband and I would like to do a 5th anniversary vow renewal party. We'll be having it in Daytona Beach, Florida. The majority of our friends and family are located in New England and will need to travel to attend. When would be appropriate to send the Save the Dates to allow my friends and family adequate time to save for and make travel plans?

  • Vow Renewal Ceremony details help!?

My husband and I are planning a vow renewal ceremony for our 5th Anniversary, and I want to loosely mimic a wedding ceremony. Obviously there will be no exchanging of rings, Dad walking me down the aisle, bridal party,etc...but vows will be exchanged, and there will be a sort-of reception afterwards. What would be an appropriate budget to set aside for the Ceremony/Reception Sites, DJ, Catering, Photographer and Cake? I was thinking $5,000 but, a photographer alone is over $1000. Also, when obtaining pricing, do I treat this as if it is a wedding?

  • Non-traditional wedding, do you think family would attend?

My husband and I were married by a JOP about two and a half years ago. Our plan was to do a small ceremony then and wait a bit to have the big to-do. It seemed like a great plan at the time but, now I'm unsure if anyone would attend. My plan is to do it for our five year anniversary and instead of throwing a regular dinner party, having a wedding. Does this seem pointless to anyone? Do you think our family would attend?

  • Does this constitute Medical Malpractice?

I went to a new Primary Care Physician. Filled them in on my complete medical history (I have a rare Auto-immune vasculitis disease). I called them a week after my first appointment, complaining of sneezing out blood. I was told to go to the ER and diagnosed with a high PT (also on coumadin). A few days later I called again because now I was coughing up blood. Went to see a nurse practitioner in the office and was sent for a sinus x-ray and a cbc (white blood cell count, hemoglobin, etc...). The nurse said "I'm not worried, you probably burst a vessel in your nose and keep damaging it when you sneeze" (I had been sneezing quite a bit). I got a call a week later with the results (everything was normal). I wasn't satisfied with their lack of concern that I was coughing up blood so I went to the Mayo Clinic and requested to see a Rheumatologist (I am new to the state and wanted to secure a PCP before securing a specialist, with the hope that the PCP would refer me to a good Rheumatologist). Come to find out ALL of the blood was coming from my lungs and the PCP's office failed to give me a referral to a Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist or a Rheumatologist. My illness, that was in remission, is now active. Had I not taken it upon myself to find a Rheumatologist, I could have ended up in the hospital in a few weeks, not to mention possibly with pneumonia with blood sitting in my lungs. Does anyone think this constitutes malpractice, before I go calling attorneys for consultations?

  • Pet flea control products...help?

I know frontline and advantage are the best but, they are quite pricey. I was looking at flea control products at Wal-mart and they have drops similar to frontline and advantage. I am beginning to see fleas on my babies and can't quite afford frontline this week. Will a cheaper flea control such as this work for a couple of weeks until I can afford the frontline? Also, how long will a flea bath keep the fleas away?

  • Why do you think some people are obsessed with insulting gay individuals?

My theory is they are secretly sexually attracted to the opposite sex and socialization teaches them that being gay is wrong, so they use their "dislike" for gay individuals as a cover to hide their true feelings.

  • Hurricane Preparation Tips?

My husband and I moved to Florida in October and we are nearing the beginning of hurricane season. My husband has assured me that hurricanes are nothing to worry about where we are, as we are about 60 miles inland. (I've never lived in the south, I'm from Maine, he lived here before joining the Navy). I understand that we need to have canned food on hand, in case the stores are all closed up but...how much should I have on hand. Our stove is powered by propane, as is our water heater, do I need to get a portable stove as well? What tips can you offer to help me prepare for hurricane season?

  • Tattooing over scar tissue/stretch marks?

    Hey all,

I have 6 tats and plan to add to the tat family. I'd like to have a hibiscus tattooed on my shoulder but, I have some scar tissue around the area from stretchmarks brought on by a severe illness I suffered when I was 14. I am wondering if the tattoo will come out badly if this small area of scar tissue is tattooed over?

  • Beach Wedding Outfit, appropriate?

I'm pretty sure my cousin is getting married ON the beach, if not it is in a hotel right by the beach. I'm thinking of going with a beachy/formal-ish ensemble. I'd like to wear a cute, just below the knee red, white and burnt orange sundress, black athena sandals, a puka shell heart shaped necklace and anklet and a silver bangle. If the ceremony is outside I'll wear black sunglasses with three simple rhinestones at the temple (the nuptials take place at 2 in the afternoon). Is this too informal?

  • Bank Deposited an extra $400 in my account?

My husband and myself went to the bank to cash and deposit some of his paycheck. On the bank receipt was a figure that was about $400 more than we deposited. I didn't think anything of it since it was about the total of what we should have had in the bank anyway. Now, checking my online banking statement I noticed that my account had $400 more in there then there should be. Not that I have a problem with it but now there is a bit of a moral/legal dilemma. I know I SHOULD call the bank and alert them of the mistake but, in these trying times, $400 extra is really useful! If the bank notices on their own, and I have spent the money, can they withdraw $400 from my account without my knowledge? Can I get into legal trouble if I don't report the mistake and use the money?

  • SMC...building a business with other people's products?

I'm thinking of starting my own at-home business, I'm a student and even though we don't really need it, I'd like to contribute to the household. I've been looking at SMC, I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with this company and if anyone can offer advice for doing this with our current economic status.
