  • what would the republicans replace the ACA with?

what would and should they replace the ACA with? honestly it is also their law. keeping kids under parents policy until until 26 and the mandate were both republican amendments that the democrats compromised on. (dont let seeing none voted for it fool you) also you can also shop across state lines in a way. so given that the main provisions like the mandate was republican led what would they want done differently?

  • for those saying NO to closing tax deductions "loopholes"?

due to deductions and other incentives GE in 2010 paid ZERO income tax (still layed off a large chuck on us workforce). and even got money BACK. should we not close those deductions that allow multi billion dollar companies to get off paying no income tax at all?

to me the issue isnt how much the wealthy pay.it is the amount paying. if more businesses like GE paid and you expand tax brackets so more lower level income atleast pay some form you can/could keep rates low

  • will republicans learn from Palin and Ryan?

to me Romney was similar to McCain in some regard. both had trouble getting the republican base excited. both had a history of being more moderate, but when running for president each courted the far right. also the lack of excitment is why they picked the V.P they did

Palin instantly grew excitment from the base and the far right. but this came at a huge cost to moderates who were on the fence. Ryan was picked for the same reason..it was his pick of ryan that drove the woman vote even more to obama.but the base and the tea party loved Ryan.

so will the republicans in 2016 make the same mistake of picking someone to excite and please the far right that will drive everyone else away? or will they pick someone that can bring moderates and the far right together?

  • how would you change the way elections are done?

if you could change how presidents are elected how would you?

my answer is getting rid of the electoral college and do voting by districts..and whoever wins the popular vote wins the disrict..this way it would closer reflect how the people vote and i think it would get more people to vote since it is done on more of a local level

  • was Ryan a good pick?

it is a bad pick. it now puts romney on the defensive even more. Rep. Ryan has voted for things that romney came out against.. and things he has critized the president for doing. so now he will have to explain that..on top of the fact there is still mounting pressure from republicans for him to release his tax returns..

he voted in favor of the auto bailout

he voted in favor of the bank bailout

    housing subsides

    unemployment extensions

    2008 and 2009 stimulus

so it takes away some his attacks against the president

who do you think is gonna be on the list..i wouldnt discount jeb bush ..people have been talking him up for 2016 run. i also think haily (SC govenor) is possible..he will pick someone from the south and someone who will strenghten the ticket

i would love to see a non politician..i could see him choosing a business person like meg whitman..it would strenghten his campagin as one that could fix the economy, while not over shadowing the him
