Which star is it that I can see from my window?
I live in SE England, Kent, and for years there has been this star brighter than all the others which I've been able to see even on the not so clearest of nights. Can anybody, an astronomer, please tell me which star it is?!

3 AnswersLondon6 years agoIs the Kalashnikov assault rifle unfairly represented in the West?
On many occasions I've seen video reviews of the AK-47 v an AR-15, or an M16, M4, and in video games, where the AKs' recoil is all over the place, ridiculously so. Considering that the AK-47 is the original model, fair to say "outdated", and has been replaced by the AK-74/AKM by most modern militaries, is it really fair to compare it to weapons like an AR-15, which is so modified and new compared? The AK is quite often criticised by many for it's poor accuracy. But I've heard the argument by some that accuracy isn't the be all and end all to a weapon. For one, the Kalashnikov bests all else for it's durability. The main differences I've read about the 47 and 74 is that the 74 is lighter and uses a different cartridge. Not to mention that the accuracy of it has been improved. My point is, if this was a bad weapon, it wouldn't be used by so many and so famous around the world. When it comes to it, most battles, where ground troops are using assault rifles, the M4 may well be more accurate at killing an enemy 500 meters away, but doesn't most fighting take place with usually a max of 200 meters? A range which is proven to be little effort for todays modern AK-74s. Ps. The bias I've seen towards the AK family usually stems from an American audience. THOUGHTS?
5 AnswersMilitary7 years agoShould I break up with my girlfriend?
We have been together for a year and four months. We've known each other for 2 years now. I really do love her, and we always have so much fun together, we're really close, can be really weird together. But today we had a big argument. She was condemning gypsy travellers. I'm a real egalitarian, and she's not racist to other ethnicities, but she has a hatred for travellers. And I think when it does come to some things, political beliefs, she's just ignorant. Our political opinions are different, I'm far left, and she's a Conservative. So sometimes if we have intellectual talks it can end in disagreement. She's not a bad person, just ignorant/blissfully ignorant sometimes. We really do have a great relationship, but I don't know what to do. I don't want to break up with her because we do have a special thing, and I'd never find anything like it. But I don't want her influencing our children's opinions with such ignorant drivel.

2 AnswersClassical8 years agoWhat kind of hairstyles would suit a guy with an oval shaped face?
My hair when it gets long is long and wavy curls, at the moment I like to keep a bit of length at the front and my girlfriend likes it with some length at the front at least and if I leave it to dry it'll go into tight curls. What other hairstyles can you suggest?
