Why do the states of Kentucky, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Virginia call themselves Commonwealths?
So are they really states? or not?
2 AnswersGovernment9 years agoWhich three states do not have counties, or have exclusively county divisions?
Correct answer gets the point!
1 AnswerGovernment9 years agoIs it right or ethical for a pastor to tell church-goers how to vote?
I think not!
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoCan Counties in some states have two county seats? And if so, which states have such counties?
Someone was telling me that in some counties in select states there may be two county seats. I know that this is not so in Wisconsin-that's where I'm at.
1 AnswerGovernment9 years agoDid the late Dodi Fayed's Father attend Prince William's wedding in April 2011?
I understand that Mr. Dodi Al Fayed was possibly going to propose to the Princess, very soon, had they not both passed away. Is such a thing true?
Was Mr. Mohamed Al-Fayed invited to the Prince's wedding ceremony to Ms. Middleton, last year?
7 AnswersRoyalty9 years agoWhere is this following passage from in the scripture-in The Bible, which verse is it?
Not sure where it is
I know it's similar to this: Hear Oh Israel, The LORD our GOD, the LORD is One. I once heard it read in Hebrew or the Yiddish Languages of the Jewish people. It is very inspiring, and uplifting-isn't it?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoIs Billy Graham a fraud? Is he even a real Christian?
No, I'd say he's not, because he probably did all those years of television ministry to make money for himself! Is it all a show? As a young lad, I remember watching all those poor saps being pulled into the trap that was "Graham's revival" shows, on live T.V. no doubt! And I fell for it once, thinking to myself that I would call as I heard: "Call now, and know Jesus!" But I soon learned not to call in to this load of fallacy, and just to put my trust in God, and the Holy Bible! I will not put my trust in some evangelical man who was in it for the fame, and money! Poor Mr. Graham-hope he finds his way to God!
It's hard to believe that a man would put himself at center stage for his own glory. Must be one of those "Baptists" or some other type of non-Christian cult. No?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoThose athiest people should have their own place in answers? Right?
It will do no good for them to try and tell we people of faith to follow them! Right?
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoCan members of a jury be related to each other?
It is not very possible that a husband and wife could be selected to serve on the same case for a jury. But if it happened that Sam, and his wife Betty were to go to the same trial for a jury selection, would either one be dismissed because they are married to each other? It would be very hard to keep your own opinions if your own spouse were on the same panel.
Could a jury contain, say two people who are cousins, and their grandparent?
In other words, can the members of the jury be people who are closely related, or who know each other very well?
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics10 years agoHow to apply for a Car/automobile Loan? How would a person be able to get a loan?
IS it based upon credit? How may I figure my credit score? So far I don't even know if I would have any score. Only have a student loan which is paid on a monthly basis.
Would a student loan affect a credit score? I've never had a "credit card" or a "charge card", but I do have a debit.
5 AnswersCredit10 years agoWhere is the mother church of the Orthodox Christian Churches?
Would it be in Rome? Moscow, perhaps? Istanbul [Constantinople]? Being that both Catholic and Orthodox Churches were the One Holy Christian Church before 1054.
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWould Saint Peter's-Rome be considered the mother church of Christianity?
Warning: Just so you know, I will ignore all hate speech and negative opinions!
Historically, too I'd like to know. History seems to support a yes, in this case.
Most of the numerous denominations either coexisted with the Catholic Church, or were in a way "born" from it. So I am thinking maybe yes. But I can't be entirely sure.
I need good views only, please. Thanks.
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWhat sect does the "National Cathedral" in Washington, D. C. follow? Is it affiliated with a certain denominat?
.......ion? (not enough room!!)
Why is it a National Mark, if our country believes in a supposed separation of government and faith?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoIs giving up something at Lent Time a good practice?
I don't give up. I guess what I give up would be giving into temptations, or bad behavior! Not that I am this way always, but it is hard to see the light sometimes.
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWhy on earth do people say "spiritually speaking?"?
What the 'heck' is that supposed to mean? Personally, I just think it's just a waste of time to say that!
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWould Westminster Abbey be considered the Mother Church of the Anglican Church/Church of England?
Or would it be the Church in Canterbury?
Is Westminster a Cathedral?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWhy do some people here refuse to believe that Jesus is Saviour of the World?
Do not they know that this refute will come back to them, in the form of eternal punishment?
Chose to believe in God, and follow in the ways of the Christian life!
27 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoSo if we Catholics are sooo Wrong, then why is ours the largest Christian denomination in numbers?
Sorry to all the sore and rude people out there who may answer this in vain! But Catholics are the first Christians, and we have the most in membership, because this is God's Will.
Our faith is also from the Bible, and all traditions are from the Holy Scriptures as well!
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoShould Weiner be out?
Kick him out of the House. I am not even from NY, but believe what he stands for is wrong. And I tend towards that party, but people like Mr. Wiener are "Weeners" themselves.
5 AnswersPolitics10 years agoWhat is the difference between a Pastor, and a Minister?
As a Catholic, I believe that all members of the Holy Christian church are Ministers. Yet a priest who tends to a parish is the Pastor of said parish. Some of the Methodists believe the same, in that we are all ministers of Christ, but the leader of a church community is the Pastor.
Basically couldn't a Minister be anyone of us? -Not necessarily just "some preacher who teaches us the Word of the Lord."
