  • GUYS Is this a Resume Offense?

My cover letter stated the following reason for my interest in Consulting (100% true story):

"I became interested in management consulting after an application submitted to a top Strategy firm surprisingly resulted in an invitation to the first round of interviews. The experience gave me an opportunity to firmly explore consulting as a potential career option. Having no prior industry knowledge and or a business back ground, I proactively began to learn more about the industry, trends, and the practice of management consulting. I was particularly attracted to XYZ due to its strong industry reputation for diversity recruiting, a fast growing Public Sector Practice, and an unmatched professional development & training program for recent graduates interested in strategy and operational consulting"

Does the fact that i mentioned "TOP strategy undermine the said company in question? is this offensive?

  • why can't a guy and a girl be "just friends" HELP!?

i recently met a really nice guy, we get along really well, he really gets me and i think we can be really great friends, romantically he's not necessarily my type, (i.e he's shorter than me desired height for men, and he's a whole year younger than me) but it seems like from the minute we met he wasn't necessarily interested in me as just a friend, he has asked me to make plans with him this week, and i really want to hang out with and all, but i'm afraid he might get the wrong idea, how do i tell me I'm only interested in him as a friend and nothing else, how can i prevent him from getting hurt-i don't want to hurt him!!

  • which employer would you choose? 10 points?

so i have a job offer from two companies. And i have having difficulty choosing between them. Employer A:

Pros: nice and friendly collegial environment, easy but boring work, low pressure, encouraging management, located in my city, close to friends, family and boyfriend, normal pay, lots to learn

Cons: uncertain career progression after termination of contract, not very prestigious, boring work (not too interesting)

    Employer B:

Pros: competitive, prestigious department, lots of career progression, good on resume, normal pay but with potential to increase, high pressure, high competition

Cons: away from my family and friends, location boring and cold, hard and possibly boring work load, high pressure environment, super competitive.

which would you choose? and why?

  • dating, men, and mysteries! sigh?

so i was seeing a guy who was pretty much perfect on paper, he was highly educated, very intelligent, kinda funny, came for a good wealthy family and was on his way to acquire more of it lol- BUT i wasn't attracted to him, i don't know why, it just wasn't there?? i still can't figure out why on our last date when he was dropping me off, he was happy, singing lol and asked for a good night kiss, but i just gave him a hug and told him to have a safe trip back home-i just couldn't get my self to kiss him- i never called him back, but even though i would not have gone out with him again, to my surprise he didn't inquire after me after that either! did he pick up the signals? i tried my best to hide it and was nice and laughy etc

  • GPA for Graduate School?

i just finished my master with an 80% cumulative average, which is a A-. is this a bad grade to have in grad school-my program required a 75% to remain active in each course.

  • guys am i shallow for thinking this way, help!?

i have been talking to this guy i met recently, we were mostly talking through texts/emails for 3 months, i have met him twice-and he is a really nice guy, pretty much perfect on paper, intelligent funny etc BUT there is absolutely no chemistry on my end what so ever . i am absolutely not attracted to him at all-he is a strange looking man lol, but really sweet and someone i can see being friends with-but there is no romantic connection. on our last date he asked me for a goodnight kiss and i couldn't do it! i feel terrible and awfully guilty but i don't know how to tell him this. the first time i met him, i figured may be if we spend more time together, my feelings may change, but i don't think that will happen. how can i let him know that, is that even a valid enough reason to let someone go? please helpp, any one else been though this?

  • Guys is this a red flag? please advise!!!?

the man that i am currently talking to/seeing always seem to want me to plan everything, dates, night out, events etc. for instance its his b-day next week and he told me we wants "me" to plan it out! .lol i thought guys like to take charge and stuff what is going on here. i know he is always very busy at work (he is a resident doctor) and doesn't have the time for much social life but still, i like "take charge" type of guys...and feel stuck in the planner, manger role lol. is he lazy, or just busy and couldn't care less ? what does this say about him?

  • Does he think i'm pursuing him?

so there is this guy i'm interested in, we have been texting back and forth- but he always asks me to text HIM. like he would say "text me tmrow" etc. he was the first to give me his number, i then texted him first so he could have mines. and we just started talking. he asked me to go see a movie with him, but i had fallen ill, so i said we'll do some thing when i recover. "i then" asked him if he wanted to go to the jazz bar and just hang out this weekend. meaning i kind of asked him out, even though he was the first one to ask me to the movies. after the conversation ended, he told me to text HIM tmrow. sigh. i want him to be the first to text me...does this sound like i am pursuing him. we does he always ask me to text him-is he lazy or just considerate? plz help!!!

  • help how to date an "over experienced" man...?

so I'm talking to this guy i recently met..i like him etc but the thing is i have never been with a man in a "serious" relationship--I'm picky and boys were never a priority in my life, they always came second.

however now I'm a little freaked out because this guy is really experienced and has been around a lot. lol--no I'm not a virgin...just wondering how men feel about women who aren't as experienced as them, is this a turn off...i kind of don't know how to tell him

  • guys is this funny or freaky?

if a girl told you on a first date that that intellectual stimulation is far more important to her than a physical one and that she finds that attraction to the brain almost always takes precedence over the body when it comes to relationships for her..how would you react..would that freak you out.?

  • Texting: should i be worried about his behaviour?

so i am talking to this guy for a while. my contact information was passed onto him through a friend. i always knew who he was, but never talked before until recently. We live in different cities, about an hour drive, and we are both busy individuals. He is a medical student, i'm a grad student. We are sort of in the "getting to know each other stage".. Any ways so basically because of our super busy schedules, we dont get to talk to each other alot. He always find the time to text me ONCE every day, and i reply to him once a day. Its really frustrating because i want to actually make time for him, but i have been busy with exams recently. We have each other on MSN, but we rarely come online. How long do you think this can go on for before he loses interest. does the fact that he still makes time for me and texts me a day say that he is still interested?

    1 AnswerSingles & Dating1 decade ago
  • is he shy or just not interested? plz help male opinion needed!?

so there is this guy friend of mines who i routinely talk to on MSN. he moved out of town a year ago so we often talk online. we have been talking for a year now, i met him through a friend but only got to know him better through MSN conversations/texts etc. we both have many things in common and had a very strong emotional connection. i haven't seen him once in this one year, largely because we were both busy with school and the commute from city would have been long. he did ask me to hang out with him one time but i couldn't make it due to something, after that i asked him numerous times but something would always come up on his end. all in all i haven't seen in a while, i know he was interested in me at one point but i don't understand why he no longer asks me if i want to hang out with him??the other day i asked him what his plans were for xmas and he said he had none. i wanted him to come over, but now I'm hesitant. why doesn't he take the initiative to ask if i want to hang out, i mean even if it is just as friends, and nothing romantic. should i ask him again to come over during the holidays--or does that make me sound desperate for his company?
