20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoMinced Garlic = How Many Cloves?
When looking through recipes I'll often see it say to add 2 cloves of minced garlic.
Now I don't keep actual garlic cloves here, what I used is dry minced garlic (lasts longer than the moist stuff) So what measurement of dry minced garlic equals a single clove?
2 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhole Chicken Breast in a Slow Cooker?
What should I do with it?
About an hour or so i threw a whole chicken breast into a crock pot with about 1/8 cup of water for steam. What should I do with it? What can I do with it? I really have no idea and I'm new to cooking and just looking for a couple ideas.
I have honey, minced garlic and other spices and herbs available. I have potatoes.
Suggest away!
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agorecycle bin from a shared drive?
Really tiny server at my girlfriends job, no IT person to speak of.
Server has two hard drives. The C drive and the M drive which is the main storage space. There's a folder on the M drive for shared documents that all the other PCs (hers included) are mapped to. She accidentally deleted a file from the shared folder while on her computer.
I have access to the server but how do I get to the recycle bin of that drive?
5 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoIf Atheism isn't a religion....?
Full Disclosure: I'm an Atheist. Probably a "militant atheist" depending on some people's definitions.
How come they want equal time on the lawns of state buildings along with nativity displays and such?
It just bugs me. Every year atheists groups file lawsuits or get petitions to have an atheist display for the holidays because if one religious groups gets to, they should have "equal time".
Equal time huh? Where have we heard that before? If atheism isn't a religion, then no, it doesn't deserve equal time in that setting just like creationism or "ID" doesn't deserve equal time in science classrooms because it's NOT SCIENCE much in the same way atheism is NOT A RELIGION.
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoStarter Issue or maybe a ground issue?
I have a 1995 Chevy Blazer and the starter is wonky (I think).
Electrical system is working fine, but the car starts intermittently. If I bang on the starter it'll eventually start. my GF's dad looked at it and said there's a grounding issue and if I remove the two bolts, clean them and put em back it should be fine.
Well I did that and it's not starting. Banging doesn't seem to be helping either.
So would a starter slowly die and he confused it for a grounding issue?
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoI'm not religious, I'm Christian?
I've heard my dad start saying this or a variation of this phrase within the past year or so and I find it irritating. Is this something new in Christianity that's recently started? I've heard a lot of people start claiming this as well.
Isn't it a bit like saying "I'm not a carpenter, I just build things out of wood for a living".
Thought? I'd especially like a Christian perspective on this.

1 AnswerOther - Computers1 decade agoMS Access auto update person's age?
I'm trying to build my first database on Access and I'm making a membership database for a local community theatre. What i want to do is kep track of all people involved from regular paying/voting members, board members and non paying volunteers.
I want to keep track of statistics for each person like their interests and physical attributes. I think I can figure out most of it, but where I'm stumped is how to get their age? I'm sure I could just input their age, but what I'd rather do is input their birth date and have it show the age on a report.
Can anyone tell me how do accomplish this?
2 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoHey Agnostics.....and ONLY self identified agnostics?
Do you think there's just as equal of a chance that a god exists as a god not existing? Like is it 50/50 or more like 70/30?

5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians....about prayers/grace and non-christians?
So as an atheist I do not bow my head nor say grace when at a meal. Aside from just not believing in it, I think it'd be rude to "pretend" for the sake of social graces to do such a thing.
So what do you think? Do you think an atheist, agnostic, Jew, Muslim and so on should partake in the prayer or just stay quiet at let your fellow Christians do what they need to do?
Would you offer the same respect if the meal was such mixed company if the Muslims did their prayer and so on?
And is it rude of me to just stay quiet? Should I bow my head and just pretend I'm Christian?
Please state your thoughts, and for the atheists and other non-believers who I know will answer this anyways...what do you do?
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians who believe the 2012 scare?
Obviously this question is directed at those Christians who buy into the 2012 end of the world scenario.
Usually when end of the world scenarios pop up that don't originate from televangelists or the bible or something like that, they're the first group to stand up and shout that the Bible clearly states that no man will know the date or time.
So why has the 2012 thing gotten a hold of so many Christians? I can understand then saying that the end is "soon" because they always say that...but why 2012? Why jump on the back of what a "false religion" claims?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoI need the font called Archie!!!!!!?
I reinstalled windows and now I don't have it and can't remember where I got it because it's obviously not a default Windows font. If you go to this site, it's the font I used in the logo.
I use it for other things with that site so it's fairly important.
Can someone maybe check their font list for it?
1 AnswerOther - Computers1 decade agoMy Kid is a Bad Sport?
I have a 5 1/5 year old son. He's an only child. He's had 1 1/2 years of all day pre-school so I know he's had a lot of kids to socialize with but he's such a bad sport!
He's a poor winner and an even worse loser. the thing is that I'm an excellent sport as is his mother. We try to reinforce that it's better to just have fun and that you learn more when you lose but he's got it in his head from somewhere that he's the best so he should win all the time.
Now granted he's very good at a lot of things and is the smartest kid I've ever been around. I know a lot of parents say that but someties it's just creepy the amount of information he retains and the amount he can logically work out. I didn't think those skills (critical thinking) really started to develop untill about 7 or 8 but he's been doing it since 3.
This is the only thing I can think of is that he's worked out that since he's so smart, that he should win.
Any advice?

14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoYMCA Camp and non-theist 5 year old?
I'm atheist and my GF is non-theist. Anyways we have a 5 year old son who starts kindergarten in the fall and we're sending him to YMCA day camp this summer so keep him occupied and keep him with a daily routine and all.
Anyways once a week the kids go to a church where they sing songs, do crafts have a snack and so on. Now this is optional but what I'm concerned with is that he'll feel left out, especially if he's the only one opting out. I didn't know about the church thing til yesterday as the church just recently offered this service for free.
Now I know it's a tactic by the church and it's designed so that kids will feel left out if their parents opt out. I also am not objecting to exposing my son to different religions, but I think 5 years old is a bit early.
Does anyone here have an opinion or experience with this? He's already excited about going so pulling him out isn't an option and I have a feeling I'm just going to have to suck it up.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians, specifically JWs - Numbers 31?
A few days ago I had a JW door knocker come to my house and I talked with her on my porch. I was polite and didn't really antagonize like I would have had I been younger (and I did back then) but I asked her to justify Numbers 31 to me, specifically verses 15-18. She said she wasn't too familiar with it and would get back to me. unfortunately she just came back.
Her explanation was that it wasn't a terrible thing for God and Moses to command. The Medianite people seduced the Israelites to do bad things and therefore had to be punished. The fact that they let the young girls who had never "known" a man live was an act of love and mercy and that God would never condone immoral behavior. Now I just let it go. I had just gotten my son down for a nap and didn't wanna get into it so I'll ask here.
The ONLY people left alive from the Medianites were virgin girls kelp alive for the Israelis. If that doesn't mean sex slave or forced wife I don't know what does. How is that merciful or loving?
1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy Do Atheists Concern Themselves with Religion (part1)?
The Christian community has a golden opportunity to train an army of dedicated teachers who can invade the public school classrooms and use them to influence the nation for Christ.

Would any Christian care to defend this?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoStaged Readings?
We're thinking about doing monthly staged readings of popular plays at a local bookstore/coffee house in order to raise awareness and participation in our community theatre.
We're not planning on charging, but rather accepting donations to cover script costs and whatnot. We would be encouraging patrons to participate in the next reading if they wish in order to perhaps get more people into the theatre.
Has anyone else done this with their community theatre? Advice?
