2001 Buick Regal 3.8L V6 coughs on acceleration?
I replaced the spark plugs and wires, ignition coils, MAF sensor, accelerator position sensor, air filter, O2 sensor. None of that made any difference. It coughs standing still at 4000 rpm. It coughs upon acceleration from a stop, cold or warm. It coughs at 1500 rpm at 60 mph if there is an increase in grade. It stops coughing when I shift down from D to 3 (rpm goes up to 2000), so I don't think it has a cracked intake manifold or a vacuum leak. I checked the vacuum-driven diaphragms and tubes, but they are all sound. Gas mileage is always good (around 30 mpg). I haven't checked fuel pressure. I suspect that the power control module is giving false signals to foul up the ignition. Could I solve the problem with a new PCM? I tried to get a new PCM but it had a programming problem (security lock-out). Or is it a problem with the fuel injection system or fuel pump? Or something else?
1 AnswerGMC1 decade ago2001 Buick Regal 3800 V6 coughs on accelleration?
The engine goes "rrrrrr-cough-rrrrrr-cough-cough-rrrrr" (with the rrrr as normal) upon acceleration, from a start or full speed (it isn't related to low or high RPM). It isn't related to cold or warm engine. Engine has 145K miles. The Check Engine code says knock sensor, which is accurate. I increased the octane on fuel: no effect. I don't think there is a problem with the ignition components (spark plugs and wires replaced 5K ago...two of which are the hardest spark plugs I have ever replaced), or regular maintenance (filters, fuel system). I checked MAF: appears in good condition, voltage is normal (4.9 - 5 volts). O2 sensor was replaced 5K ago.
2 AnswersGMC1 decade agoIs the free exercise of religion, without government intervention...?
at an end? Can we survive without this protection?
Read the constitution. There is no mention of separation of religion from civic affairs. It is quite the opposite: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ". Religion is protected from government intrusion, and rightfully so, because it is religious influence that has moderated and stabilized our culture. Oh, don't give me that old crap about religion causing all the wars. And avoid the use of the trite and useless phrase "separation of church and state". Just answer: Are the constitution's " no law respecting" and "free exercise" rights busted?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoI'm in favor of the "Red State" politics, but what would be a better name?
The 2000 election brought out a group that is willing to fight for the constitution, work and give their lives to maintain freedom, religious practice, and moral conduct. The leaders we elected betrayed those ideals, however. What could we call the "Red Stater" party? It's not the same as Libertarian or Constitution. It's more the "Contract With America, '94election" party. I have divorced the Republican party. I need an organization I can look to for leadership without corruption, who will support and submit to term limits, and who strive for less government and fiscal responsibility. Am I in lala? What could we call this political party?
