  • Breeding Bengalese Finches?

    Hi,

I was thinking about maybe getting a breeding pair of bengalese finches and breeding them maybe once or twice a year.

But wanted to know if they could be bred happily in a cage, if so what size would be suitable for one possibly two pairs?

I read that they can have up to eight babies, but what is the usual number they have.

  • Budgie experts please?

Ive been looking into how to sex young budgies, so is this right?

Young male budgies can have pale blue or pink ceres, which turn bright blue and females have white or pale blue ceres which turn tan/brown.

I know male albinos have purple ceres, as i have one. The reason i ask is cause i would like to buy my budgie a buddy and don't want to get the sex wrong, Thank you for reading.

  • Can anyone help me sex my albino budgie?

I just bought a beautiful albino budgie, white with pink eyes. I know its far to early to tell the sex, but was wondering if there is any one who knows what there talking about when it comes to budgies.

Angel (budgies name) has a purple cere with blue rings around the nostrils.

I have read that females have blue/purple ceres and males have brow/tan ceres, the opposite to normal budgie Colours.

So im now thinking angel is a girl, what do you reckon?

I don't mind either way as angel is very freindly and loving.

  • Does any one have a chinchilla?

I would like to know how long they are awake for, ive googled it but it says they are awake in the evening and at night, but i bought a book on them and it says they are awake when its cool so im a bit confused.

I really like the idea of having a couple but im worried i will never see it, ive got a hamster that only comes out when i go bed. So i don't want another pet that does the same.

Any other info would be good to, thank you for reading.

  • Can any one help me choose a pet?

Im looking for something that's awake during the day and is not overly loud in the evening, it also needs to be low maintenance as i have two children under the age of two.

I would like something playful and that can be handled, i would like something to sit on my shoulder why i read a book, do dishes that sort of thing.

Was thinking maybe a bird, but im worried i will pick the wrong one as there are sooo many. I couldn't cope with something that is high pitched or screams which i know most birds seem to do.

Any advice would be good thank you for reading.

Also what birds are quiet during the evening or do they go quieter if you cover them over.

  • Just wondering how good guinea pigs are as pets?

So im thinking about getting a guinea, ive done some research and they sound really freindly, cuddly and fun which is what im looking for in a pet.

Just worried about it peeing and pooing everywhere as i want to let it out allot to run around and play, can they be litter trained?

Also i read that when there younger they tend to pee on you due to there bladder being small, does this pass as they get older?

In your opinon do you prefer males or females, im thinking about getting a female.Mainly because i have seen one in the pet shop not far from me, shes really sweet and the owner hasn't a clue.

Every time i go in there im giving him advise lol. Anyway shes in a cage with her son, which i know is bad.

Do you reckon i should get her, i hate the idea of her being in a dirty small cage over christmas with the chance of her having babies.

Ive had a couple of rabbit litters in the past so have had a bit of pratice lol, i think being a mum my heart gos out to her.

  • My first two babys got stuck at 9cm, have you had simlar problems?

I have a 21 month old girl and a 6 month old boy, it took an hour for me to get to 9cm, but then they got stuck. I had to go to theatre and have help, with my first i got cut and had help from a suction cup and my second was the same, but the suction cup kept slipping off and i had vonetoose ( excuse my spelling lol).

I would like to try for another baby as me and my partner always said we would like three, but what do you think my chances are of having another one stuck.

I think it will go the same way again, but im really scared that it could go worse next time, freinds and family say to ask for a c-section but thats the one thing that scares me most.

I asked the midwife after having my second baby why they got stuck, and she said that i could have a funny shape pelvis.I also asked her what my chances are that i would have another baby get stuck and she said she wasn't sure.

Both my babys were born back to back and there heads were to the side slightly (not lined up, if you know what i mean lol). In the 4D scans i had on both, the scan showed there heads were slightly to the side as well.

Sorry not very good at explaining my self, thanks for reading.

  • Is it true that bigger enchantica dragons have plain boxes?

I was told that the bigger enchantica dragons have plain boxes because they are bigger, but i find it a bit odd why they wouldn't make the fancy boxes for the bigger ones as well.
