as we all know these recent shooting are becoming more often for whatever reason. How do you feel about the media covering all the details and speaking before they even know the real details? i have noticed they usually present wrong information/people which they later change many times. also do you believe that the media is giving these killer/murderers too much attention which makes others act up to get their 15 minutes of fame. I am all for being informed which the media help us with but are they taking things too far?

i am VERY new to stocks and came across some money and wanted to invest in stocks for LONG term gain. i don't want to buy/sell/ trade and all but i just want it for long term. can you please tell me some stocks which are good for long term investing?

also i was thinking buying a few, like 5, different oil companies stocks and was wondering if that would be a good idea. for example exxon mobil, shell, BP..ect.

i am using E-Trade for right now and have my minimum of $500 dollar deposit but i could go up to $2000 or so.
