I am a Muslim who believes in the Messiah. The Messiah of the Age, the return of Christ, i.e. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad the Promised Messiah and Mahdi. Ahmadi Muslims are persecuted for our belief in him but the Prophet (sa) did say, "I shudder to think of the persecution the Messiah and his people will face." Jesus (as) too said, "ye shall be hated by all nations for my names sake." God is our guide, Love for All, Hatred for None! I love dialogue and I like to think I'm open minded. If you have questions, feel free to email or IM. My only rule is no vulgarity or insults. So Sadly, several of our fellow Muslims have tried to start debates with insults and misleading statements. This has no place in Islam. I love reading, sports, certain types of music, and sleep, definitly love sleep :) http://www.examiner.com/x-22966-Chicago-Islam-Examiner www.alislam.org www.therealrevolution.org http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=lTaEfhEVEbQ&feature=related Love for All, Hatred for None

  • Why do some Submitters pray only 3 times a day?

This is by no means an attack on Submitters, but a genuine inquiry.

Since the Qur'an teaches 5 different prayer times, why do some Submitters pray only 3 times a day?

  • Why do Submitters who pray only 3 times a day?

This is by no means an attack on Submitters, but a genuine inquiry.

While I don't agree with their rejection of Sunnah and Hadeeth, I understand that Submitters reject them in their understanding of Islam.

However, since the Qur'an is clear that prayers are to be offered 5 times a day, why do Submitters pray only 3 times a day?

[24:59] - ...before the Morning Prayer, and when you lay aside your clothes at noon (in summer) and after the night Prayer.

I.E. Fajr and Isha prayers are specified. (Fajr = morning, Isha = night)

[2:239] Watch over prayers, and particularly the middle Prayer, and stand before Allah submissively.

I.E. Zuhr prayer is specified. (Zuhr = middle)

[17:79] Observe Prayer from the declining and paling of the sun till the darkness of the night,

I.E. Asr and Maghrib Prayers are specified (Declining = Asr, Paling = Maghrib)

So if all 5 prayers are spelled out at different times, why do Submitters still only pray 3 times a day? Jazakallah

  • Can I express my thoughts about my Arab brothers and sisters for a moment?

I've been very pained by the ridiculous onslaught against my Arab brothers and sisters these past few days.

I wanted to take a moment and let all my Arab Muslim brothers and sisters know that as a non Arab Muslim, I love them and respect them dearly. I pray for them and beseech Allah for them daily. I do this because they are Muslim and the beloved children of Allah, just like all Muslims regardless of race.

May Allah bless all Muslims and unite us, insha'allah.

  • Who was the first born Muslim?

Now before you answer, I don't mean Muslim as in "all children are born Muslim, etc"

What I mean is, after the Prophet (sa) declared to the masses that he is Rasoolullah (sa), who was the first child born and raised Muslim?

    Jazakallah

  • If you could spend one day with the Prophet (sa) at any age, what age would you choose?

    At birth/childhood?

    Teenager?

At Marraige to Khadija (rz)? (25)

    At Prophethood? (40)

    At Hijrat? (53)

    Right before his passing? (60-62)

Also why at the age you chose?

I'd pick right around when he was 60 because the Qur'an would be complete and I could ask him for his tafseer on any ayat I'd want and get the perfect answer :)

  • If you could own one thing that belonged to the Prophet (sa)?

    What would it be?

I think I'd either want his sword or the blanket he was covered in by his wife Hazrat Khadija(rz) after his first revelation :)

  • Does this story about Muhammad (sa) bring tears to your eyes too?

The dawn came. It was Friday, 17th of Ramadhan, 14 March 623. After Fajr Prayer, the Holy Prophet delivered a brief address on jihad. When it began to be light, he started organizing the Muslim force in battle array. One of them, Sawad, was standing out of line and the Holy Prophet indicated to him with his arrow to get into line, and by chance the arrow touched his chest, whereupon Sawad dared a protest: ‘Messenger of Allah, you have been raised by God with truth and justice. But you have poked me with an arrow unjustly. I insist upon retribution.’ The Companions were shocked, but the Holy Prophet told Sawad in a kindly tone, ‘Well, Sawad, you may poke me with your arrow,’ and he bared his chest before Sawad, who stepped forward and kissed the Holy Prophet’s chest. He inquired, ‘Sawad, why did you contrive this?’ He replied, in a voice trembling with emotion, ‘Messenger of Allah, we are facing the enemy and I know not whether I shall go back alive. I, therefore, wished that before...

  • What does this verse mean to you?

    Al-Nisa' Chapter 4 : Verse 70

And whoso obeys Allah and this Messenger shall be among those on whom Allah has bestowed His blessings - the Prophets, the Truthful, the Martyrs, and the Righteous. And an excellent company are they.

  • Maudoodi said it is a blessing of Allah that Prophethood has ended because...?

...we as Muslims no longer run the risk of punishment for rejecting a Prophet.

If it's a blessing that Prophethood has ended, then doesn't it mean that Maudoodi is saying that Prophethood was a curse while it was here?

I ask because the Holy Qur'an says that those who obey Muhammad, willl be blessed with being in the company of the Prophets.

    Al-Nisa' Chapter 4 : Verse 70

And whoso obeys Allah and this Messenger shall be among those on whom Allah has bestowed His blessings - the Prophets, the Truthful, the Martyrs, and the Righteous. And an excellent company are they.

  • Why do some say the US is a Christian nation when our greatest Americans said?

"As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Muslims; and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared...that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony between the two countries."

--Treaty of Tripoli - Article 11

If they are good workmen, they may be of Asia, Africa, or Europe. They may be Mohometans, Jews or Christians of any Sect, or they may be Atheists.

-- George Washington, letter to Tench Tilghman

"I do not find in orthodox Christianity one redeeming feature."

    --Thomas Jefferson

My earlier views of the unsoundness of the Christian scheme of salvation and the human origin of the scriptures, have become clearer and stronger with advancing years and I see no reason for thinking otherwise"

  • Who is your favorite...?

Sahabi of the Holy Prophet (sa)?

(Aside from the Khulafa for obvious reasons)

I gotta go with Abu Hurrairrah (rz). I think it's so cute that this spiritually exalted person walked around with a kitten in his arms :)

  • Why do some Muslims believe Hell is eternal when.....?

...Islam clearly teaches that it is not forever?

    For example...

Allah says (7:156) 'I will inflict My punishment on whom I will; but My mercy encompasses all things.'

If Allah's MERCY encompasses all things, despite His punishment, then shouldn't that mean that His Mercy will encompass those who are being punished in Hell? IF Hell is forever, then it would mean that Allah's Mercy does NOT encompass all things.

Hazrat Omar (ra) states: "Even if the dwellers in hell may be numberless as the sand of the desert, surely a day would come when they will be taken out of it" (Tafsir Fath-ul-Byan, the Fathuo Bari, Durr-e- Mansur and Hadil Arwah of Ibn-i-Qayyum).

    and...

"Verily a day would come over hell when there shall not be a single human being in it" (Kanzul Ummal Vol. VII, page 245; Fatah-ul-Bayan fi Maqasid-ul-Quran by Siddiq ibn Hasan).

Also, Allah only uses the word "forever" (abada) in reference to Heaven but never ONCE in reference to Hell.

  • Why are Muslims so afraid...?

of studying the teachings of Islam Ahmadiyyat with an objective and open heart? So often Muslims simply go on an anti ahmadi website and make up their mind. Did the Prophet (sa) ever teach this? Not at all - he always questioned the source of a matter. He met with Christians personally in his own mosque. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) made a pretty serious claim - to be the Messiah and Mahdi foretold by the Master Prophet Muhammad (sa). Isn't it at least worth looking into with an open heart and mind? Sure he might not be the true Messiah - but then again, he just might be...thoughts?
