Need help with this Estimation statistics problem. Please can you explain step by step. Book is terrible.?
The police department in your city was asked by the mayor’s office to estimate the cost of crime. The police began their study with burglary records, taking a random sample of 500 files since there were too many crime records to calculate statistics for all of the crimes committed. If the average dollar loss in a burglary, for this sample size 500 is $678, with a standard deviation of $560, construct the 95% confidence interval for the true average dollar loss in burglaries rounded to the nearest dollar amount. We can be 95% confident that the lower limit of our interval of dollar loss in crimes committed is $_______.
1 AnswerMathematics7 years agoNeed help with a quadratic projectile word problem, please.?
Problem:
Franchie throws a wrench into the air from a the bottom a trench that is 12 feet deep. Its height in t seconds later is given in feet by H=-16t^2=32t-12
1. What is initial velocity and initial height?
2.Find the vertex of the Equation?
3. Evaluate T and height.
4. Graph the vertex.
----------------------------------------------
Ok, the part I am having issue with is finding the initial height and initial velocity since i need that to make a new formula to find the vertex since solving for for (h,K) using the equation given will not give right vertex.
Part 2, 3, 4 I know how to do. If someone could show me a step by step method for getting the initial V and S(height) here that would be great and very helpful.
Thanks in advance.
1 AnswerMathematics8 years agoWhat do UK citizens who have actually been to America, think of the American people?
Please, just honest answers and please don't respond if you have never been to the U.S. I'd also like to avoid culture/country bashing on both sides, since that is something is just wrong. [ I'm interested in cross-cultural study and plan to go to the UK someday when I can afford it and I would like the knowledge for both reasons.
Anyway, general differences you noticed. Things you liked and things you didn't like that American people did. Things you found strange or interesting. Anything hypocritical culturally you encountered. Some thing you liked and disliked about the country. Any major differences between cultures. Bad and good experiences. ETC. Any thing like that would be great or a story or whatever comes to mind.
NOTE: I have this question in travel, but yahoo suggested this section as well.

3 AnswersOther - United States8 years agoMost detailed U.S history book (OR documentary series)?
For those history lovers out there, what U.S history book (or book series) is the most detailed, accurate with the best explanations of politics and forgien relations throughout U.S history?
I have several history books but they just gloss over most of the details and only cover the main events. I want something super detailed.
I recall in U.S history a very detailed documentary series that I think was on VHS but I have yet to find it again. It would spend time on every little event, and it was a very long series of tapes.
Thanks for the reccs.
2 AnswersHistory8 years agoFor men, question about having a healthy relationship (sexually and emotionally) after sexual abuse or rape?
I know this is a personal question, and I first tried to find books written by victims to avoid asking anyone directly, but there are not many goods ones that I have found.
So, what was it like learning to trust someone trust a partner after going through that? How to you cope with it and feel happy again? Or if you are not at that stage yet, what does it feel like now? I just want to understand it from a man's perspective, because I'm writing a research paper and it is an interesting/ largely ignored topic.
I don't if this is the best area for this question. It was what yahoo suggested. I don't correlate this issue with any one sexuality.
Thanks. Troll will be ignored.
1 AnswerLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender9 years agoRec. for a book written by a male rape survivor from the survivor's perspective?.?
I'm doing a research paper on male rape, and I feel I am missing a critical source:
I need a source written by a survivor telling his story of how it happened (if it has graphic detail, I won't discount it as long as it from a real survivor), how it affected his life afterwards, how he went through the healing process and how he felt going through it, and eventually how his recovery from the expirence came to pass to where he has been able to achieve happiness again. Or if he hasn't fully recovered yet, that is fine, as long as it a real story from a survivor, but of course a story of recovery is best.
I have found many books written by "experts" mainly therapists who explain the the basics and take only small quotes from real survivors. And I have found many "how to" recover books, and I don't need any more of those either. And sadly I have come across some books who glorify it (ugh).
I need a deeply personal story about the reality, the healing, and finally, recovery. Please give me the title or link to anything that might fit this criteria. Thank you.

The distribution is this:
Number of Children Frequency
1 5
2 12
3 8
4 3
5 0
6 0
7 1
I got 4 children as my answer. Would that be right? (29/7) or would you not count the 0s and go (29/5)?
