  • Could I Be Pregnant?

I recently got married over a month ago and I m so happy to be with my husband!!! However, the past few weeks have been physically rough. It started with nausea and diarrhea, then body aches, headaches, changes in appetite, bloating, and the past few days I ve been throwing up all my favorite foods. All I can eat now are bread, cookies, and fruit. I m even late for my period by 5 days. I took a test in the middle of the night but it came up negative. My husband says it s wrong and I took it too early and need to go take a blood test. I m really confused as to why I m having these symptoms but had a negative test. And it s not like my hormones are changing from being sexually active because neither my husband and I were virgins when we got married...Could I really be pregnant?

  • Would a Middle Eastern Guy Like Me? (A Black Muslim Girl)?

This question has been on my mind lately for some reason lol. I'm a black Muslim (Nigerian heritage) girl, and in my school (I'm a senior in high school) I'm the ONLY Muslim! Once I go to college I plan on wearing hijab (I finally built up the confidence to want to wear it Alhumdulilah) for Allah swt and for myself :) I would like to be in a community where there's more Muslims like myself, and I couldn't help but think what Middle Eastern guys think of Black/African Muslim girls...would they like me or make me feel unwelcome and be pretty racist like my community is now? Especially because I want to marry inside my religion inshallah. I'm not stereotypical at all, I'm in honors classes, I'm fluent in Spanish, I'm active in my community, I play sports, I'm really short lol (I'm 5'2" 37-27-47) I have copper skin and long natural curly afro hair, but I would loovvee to start wearing hijab next year inshallah (I kinda already have started wearing it). So would a Middle Eastern guy be into me or do I NOT have a chance lol??? Asalaam Waleikum ;)

  • Are My Measurements...Off?

Okay, I'm 17 years old and pretty much finished growing. I'm active and run track and almost a black belt in Taekwondo, so I'm pretty firm. My measurements are 36DDD-27-47, and I'm 5'2". My problem is that I feel weird about my shape because all my friends and people in the media are skinny and that's what I see men going after...even one of my friends said that guys would think boobs my size are gross (they don't sag since I carry my weight at the bottom and they don"t have stretch marks anymore since I use cocoa butter). And plus my grandma and some guy said I'm dark fat :'( (I'm Nigerian American btw and have long afro curly hair and copper skin) I'm just worried, espeacially when I get married in the future (inshallah) and since I'm Muslim on my wedding night I don't want my husband to be like,"You're boobs are gross and too big" or "Ew, lose weight." What do you guys think? Asalasm Aleikum

  • Why Do People Think Muslim Females Don't Have Rights?

Asalaam Aleikum :) Okay last year in my A.P. Spanish 5 class my teacher was talking about Spanish history with Arabs in Spain. Then she brought up Islam amd asked the class do women have rights in Islam and the whole class said no at the same time and I spoke up and said yes. She looked at me crazy and said why do we wear this and do that and why are men ahead of the household. I enlightened her and said what we wear is by choice and I don't wear hijab bc I'm not allowed (don't ask lol) and I WANT to and everybody runs their household different. I'm Nigerian American Muslimah and it just erks me when people say stuff like that. Then my friends and Christian family are like,"You wouldn't marry a Muslim man would you?" And I say,"Of course Muslim men are very kind and are great husbands and fathers (better than some other men)." And they tell me I'm going to be beaten and they don't like blacks or Nigerians (even though theres Blacks in Islam lol) and he'll leave me or kill me. It's annoying how people think like that why do they say or think stuff like that??

  • I Feel Like My Mom Doesn't Support Me on Hijab?

Okay, well I would like to start wearing hijab, especially since it'll be my senior year of high school but my mom won't let me until college when I move out next year. She also won't let me wear it until I start going to her church...but that's not apart of Islam at all!! She's Christian btw and I'm Muslimah. She's always telling me that what I believe isn't right and there's scientific evidence that she's right. She doesn't even go to church herself!!!! What do you guys think? Salaam

  • Is It Possible to Gain Weight During Ramadan?

Well my mom is Christian and I'm Muslimah and this year she's letting me participate in Ramadan. But today she was like,"I don't agree with it and you'll gain weight and it's not healthy to eat at night and I don't like it!" But I was saying I'll be fasting all day and I'll still be active and playing sports I'll just be praying more, giving more charity, voluntering, and reading Quran more. I would also like to start wearing hijab at that time but she won't let me until I move out for college next year -_- What do you guys think? Asalaam Aleikum

  • AMBW Question: Would he be into me?

I'm a 17 year old African American Muslim female. I'm very open and I'm into different types of guys and I support interracial dating 100%. But my friends and I were talking about this pairing and I just don't know if an Asian guy would be into me...not to sound racist against my own but especially since I'm Muslim (bc of the bad rep we have and that I'm a black girl). People say I'm really sweet and quiet and(they say I act like Rue from the Hunger Games) I'm really active, I run track and cross country, and I'm almost a black belt in tkd. As far as looks people say I'm a "prettier Nicki Minaj"...I guess lol and I have natural long afro curly hair. I'm not fat I guess (even though my grandma calls me fat :'() My measurements are 37-27-47 and I'm 5'2" and really firm. But I feel like they wouldn't be like to me...and I heard they like stick skinny girls and they don't like girls of my...figure lol. What do you guys think? Salaam

  • Why Do I Feel Like This?

Okay, in a few days I'm leaving for Central America for one full week. I'm really excited and I've waited forever to go!! So today I went to a meeting at a restraunt and I only know one person who is an ex-friend of mine, and there were 6 other girls who I didn't know. And...they were all skinnier than me -_- They were all tall and blond and skinny. I'm African American with mocha skin color (Nigerian Hausa/Yoruba decent), I'm 5'2" and I have long natural afro curly hair (I have it in Senegalese twists right now look it up if you don't know lol). I'm really active and work out 5-7 days a week. I'm almost a black belt in taekwondo and I run long distance track and cross country. I'm firm and my measurements are 37DD-27-47 (my butt and hips are...yeah lol). I'm just really self conscience about it and I'll be around them and feeling fat. Yesterday when I was looking for a bikini I almost started crying because I feel badly about they way I look :/ My grandma and this guy even said I'm ugly because I'm dark and fat :'( I'm just worried about how I look compared to them :/ What do you guys think? Asalaam Aleikum

  • Would an Arab Guy Like a Black Muslim Girl?

Asalaam Aleikum brothers and sisters. Okay! I was talking to my friends about Islam bc they were curious and I'm the only Muslim in my school (I live in a mostly white Protestant area). Then we were talking about Muslim guys and asked if I'd consider one...and yeah of course lol!! And I think Arab guys are attractive, or all guys actually. The problem is that I've never met any Arab guys and people tell me they're racist...yeahh idk. Anyway my question is if they would like a Black Muslim Girl. People say I'm really sweet and nice and pretty, I'm also really athletic (I'm almost a black belt in taekwondo and I run long distance track). I plan on learning Arabic in college since mine sucks lol and its not proper (Nigerian Hausa kind I barely know that lol) and I want to wear hijab in college (yeah I WANT to don't feel like I have to lol). So yeahh thats my question. Btw anyone who disses Arabs or Blacks or Muslims you will be reported! Thanks!!

  • I'm Muslim But My Mom Is Making Me Go to Church?

Okay I'm 17 and leavibg for college in less than a year Ahumdililah. Last April 2012 I reverted to Islam (Islam was always apart of my life but Christianity was more prominent). I reverted because there's nothing like praying 5 times a day, reading the Quran or anything like Islam. Because of Islam my self worth and life style is better and my spiritual life are a lot better and now I know Allah is there pbth. However most of my family is Christian including my mom and she hates the fact that I chose Islam for my life. She thinks I'm in danger and that I'll go to hell. She argues about this with me all the time and won't let me tell anyone else in my family, wear hijab (because I WANT to I don't feel forced to) or go to mosque! I have to lock my door for Salah or when I read the Quran. I love abd respect my mom but I feel kike she doesn't support me on this and it's so sad. She's even making me compromise my religion and go to church and not participate in Ramadan which I think is 100% haram! Because of this I think Allah pbth is upset with me but I'm trying so hard!! What donyou guys think?? Asalaam Aleikum
