  • How do I rip, clip, and burn DVD's?

With a budget of $40 can I purchase software that can rip copyrighted DVD's onto my hard drive. Once I get to that point is is possible to take clips or chapters from multiple DVD's and burn them onto a single DVD that can be played on a standard DVD player or a PS3? Will that require additional software or can that be done with Windows Movie Maker once the original DVD's have been burned onto my hard drive?

I'm not a techie so if you can give me some tips on file formats and all that stuff it would be helpful. I do have some DVD+R discs to use to make the final product, will those play in a DVD player or the PS3?

Since I'm sure somebody out there will mention the legal aspect of all this I'll point out that I'm not asking this because I want to make pirated copies of Hollywood films to sell on E-Bay or even to give to friends and family. I want to cut a few clips from movies and paste them into a home movie of sorts for my wife for Valentine's Day, and I've paid for all the movies I plan on using and will make no money in doing this.

  • What does an MRI with contrast show that an MRI without contrast doesn't?

I had an MRI without contrast of my lumbar spine last Friday. Yesterday I received a call from a nurse at my physician's office telling me that I had a bulging disk but now needed to go back in for an MRI with contrast. Unfortunately the nurse was not of much help in answering any questions and my doctor was not in, she had relayed the message to me from home via her nurse. So, what is it that the contrast material may show that the first MRI would have missed? Thanks for your help.

  • Do I have to repay the money I recieved from last year's economic stimulus package?

I recently input my 2008 tax info on TurboTax. If you're familiar with TurboTax then you know that as you enter your info online there's a little counter at the top of the page that shows you how everything you input effects your return. Well, I was asked to input the amount my wife and I received from the economic stimulus plan last year, it states that the fact we received that money will have no impact on our return. So, I enter $1200 and watch my return drop by exactly $1200, so what am I missing.

I appreciate any advice or insight, I'm not a tax expert so perhaps I'm just misunderstanding what's happening but if there's anybody who can explain it to me that would be great.

    Thanks

  • How do I connect my Wii to the internet?

I'm not really that tech smart so after reading through Nintendo's online directions for getting a Wii online I'm still not 100% sure what I'm doing.

I have a DSL internet connection, I have a modem that was sent to me by my internet service provider that is connected to the wall jack and then to my PC via an ethernet cable. I do not have a wireless router.

My Wii and my PC are in two separate rooms and bringing them closer together isn't very likely given space issues in my apartment.

So anywho, after reading online my understanding is that all I need to do is purchase a compatible wireless router and I'll be good to go. Am I understanding this right. Also, is there any other equipment I need to buy to connect a router to my PC or the modem or whatever it is the router is connected to?

If all I need is a router can anybody direct me on where to go to find an inexpensive one that will work?

    Thanks for the help.

  • How do I keep the peace when introducing a new cat?

Me and the little lady have a couple cats that have been with us for a while and we just adopted a new cat from a coworker who felt she didn't have the time to care for her properly with a new baby in the home.

Anywho, we got the new one yesterday and she's been very aggressive towards our current cats. One of them has been pretty good about it and really won't even hiss back at this new girl unless she actually takes a swipe at him, which she has a few times. Our other cat is a bit more disturbed by her presence and seems to want to keep an eye on her at all times, while hissing of course.

Prior to meeting my ladyfriend I was more of a dog guy (still am really, just can't have dogs at the moment, one of the crappy aspects of apartment life) and I really don't know how introductions between new cats usually go.

Any suggestions on how to ease the tension for all three and how to keep them from spending another night hissing and howling at each other, I need some sleep.
