Is it legal to voice record being pulled over?
A woman I work with is very unstable and happens to be married to a police officer. She regularly argues with coworkers and recently turned her aggression toward me. I essentially ignored her, and because she seems to thrive on conflict, she became infuriated that I did not engage. She threatened that her husband (a local police officer) would "keep his eye out for me" and "take care of it" for her since I wouldn't play along. He has pulled over another employee immediately following an altercation that employee had with his wife and he issued a hefty ticket. During the interaction, he mentioned that the employee works with his wife and laughed. I will be overly cautious to avoid this issue, but if I am pulled over in his juresdiction, is it legal to record the interaction to protect my innocence, pocket, and driving record?

1 AnswerLaw & Ethics7 years agodryer won't start?
I was drying a pair of sneakers with laundry in my Kenmore dryer and halfway through it stopped working. The load was not heavy or largw. My fiancee is sure the dryer is broken from the sneakers but I've dried sneakers many times before in many different dryers and never had this prpblem.
The dryer has a push start and when I push it to restart, it clicks but nothing is happening. The lights are on when the door opens but the dryer will not start. Did the sneakers break the dryer? How can I fix the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I mean no disrespect, just curious why it seems many men prefer Asian women. Are there any men out there who do NOT have a thing for Asian women? I'd like to hear from both sides.
4 AnswersSingles & Dating7 years agoIncome Tax?
I'm currently in nursing school in upstate NY and will graduate this December. My nursing professor keeps saying that we can expect to take home $1200.00 every 2 weeks after taxes on a $60,000/year salary. That seems low to me. I'm single, and live in NY (not NYC). How much should I plan to take home from a $60,000/year job? Thanks.
5 AnswersOther - Taxes7 years agoI don't get the Crossfit hype?
I love fitness and I spend a lot of time running, lifting and hiking. But I do not go to Crossfit. Many of my friends are dedicated Crossfit lovers. It seems to come up every time we talk and they tell me how great it is. They spend hundreds of dollars a month on memberships and talk about how hard it is. But the thing is-- I just don't see the results. Most of them have shed A FEW pounds, but after a year or two I've noticed slim to no change in their muscle mass. During the same period I lost 20 pounds and have 6-pack abs, and yet they insist Crossfit is better than the gym. I don't get it. They look essentially the same as they did before...
I don't mean any disrespect, but I really don't get the hype?
2 AnswersDiet & Fitness7 years agoWhy do so many people hate vegetarians?
I've been a vegetarian for about 2 years. Before that I ate lots and lots of meat. So I get it. I completely understand why most people choose to eat meat.
What I don't understand is why there is such strong negative backlash directed toward vegetarians. I also don't get why most people feel the need to try to convince vegetarians that they should be eating meat, or ask vegetarians to prove why they think it's worthwhile to be vegetarian.
I don't force meat-eaters to justify eating meat, and I don't hate them or get angry at them for eating meat. So why do so many meat-eaters penalize, ridicule, interrogate, mock or hate vegetarians??
6 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups7 years agoI'm planning to get married at Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica- any advice?
I would appreciate any advice from folks who have been married at that location, at Sandals in general, or who have attended weddings there. Did you run into an unexpected snaffoos? Hidden costs? What should I be prepared for?
If you were married in Jamaica, what did you do about welcome bags/thank you gifts? Did you bring supplies with you when you arrived?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
2 AnswersJamaica7 years agoI'm planning to use Vistaprint magnets as save the dates for an upcoming wedding- can these be mailed with one stamp?
The weight of the magnet (without the envelope) is 0.0266 lbs,or 0.46 ounces.
I may also include a business-card sized piece of paper with additional information in the envelope.
Has anyone shipped a Vistaprint save the date (5.47" x 4.21")? Did you use 1 stamp or 2? Thanks!
Weddings7 years agoWhat's the best way to stay motivated?
I have a history of yo-yo weightloss and fitness. I am female, 5'9 and fluctuate between 195lbs and 135lbs (that's a US size 4 to 14, in case you wondered). I always seem to get a year or so into a focused workout lifestyle and when I do, I'm on point. But inevitably, I lose focus and gain the weight back quickly. I binge eat, find reasons to skip the gym, and boomerang right back.
Right now I'm clocking in at 170 (size 10) after gaining 30 lbs in the last year and am having trouble getting myself motivated to lose. This time last year I had 6-pack abs.
What's the best way to get motivated again and stay motivated this time? I'm sick of the rollercoaster.
Thanks
2 AnswersDiet & Fitness7 years agoBest way to grow out hair for a wedding?
I am getting married in 17 months and would like to grow out my hair for the event.
My hair is shoulder length and was previously died blond on the bottom half- which has now grown out quite a bit. My natural color is medium brown and my hair is now dyed to match my natural color. My hair is baby fine and wavy. The brown cover up (and original blond job) was done professionally, although I now follow up with brown color maintenance at home. I'm on a bit of a tight budget so I'd like to do as much as possible at home.
The old blond portions are damaged and I have a lot of split ends. My hair grows pretty slowly and is about shoulder length now but I'd like it to be as long as possible by the wedding. I know nothing about hair care. What can I do to care for my hair and help it to grow without breaking? Are there supplements or topical products I can use to help? Should I chop off the old blond (6 inches or so) or will that make it shorter overall by the time of the wedding?
Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!
5 AnswersHair7 years agoWhat should I consider when traveling to Jamaica (customs)?
We are traveling to Jamaica for a destination wedding next year and are planning welcome/thank you favors for 50 guests. What will we need to consider in terms of declaring things at customs? For example, can we include single serving liquor bottles? lotions? snacks? Where can we find a list of customs-sensitive items?
Thanks!
1 AnswerJamaica7 years agoMy neighbors keep feeding my dogs, how can I get them to stop?
We have 2 dogs (chirhuahua and boxer) and live next to an elderly lady and her daughter. One of our dogs has allergy issues and the vet recommended the other lose weight. As a result, we ask others not to feed our pooches. Our neighbors mean well, but despite our REPEATED requests that they not feed our dogs, they continue to sneak snacks to them. Sometimes they will intentionally mislead me to slip a sausage to our pooches. They occasionally leave treats on the ground outside our door so the dogs can find them as "surprises" before I can intervene.
I have explained the reasons we don't want the dogs to be fed, and have asked multiple times that they stop feeding them. But they continue to push food on our animals. (Today there were 3 large meatballs and a handful of spaghetti on my back porch).
I DO NOT want to start a war with my neighbors over this issue, but it has to stop. How can I get through to them that we really don't want them feeding the dogs? Thanks!
7 AnswersDogs7 years agoIs it appropriate to approach my mother in law about her hurtful comments?
My mother in law lives 8 hours away and frequently stops in unannounced for overnight visits. We are young and are both full time students with jobs. So we live in a small, NY apartment, and do not have a lot of extra money for luxury. We do the best with what we have and we are proud of what we have worked for.
During her most recent trip, my MIL showed up unannounced (again) after inviting her friends to come stay for 10 days with us to "visit New York." We have a new apartment and did not yet set up a guest bed. So, we gathered all the extra "fun money" we had to purchase a queen-sized futon for her and her husband to stay on in our second room. We offered an air bed to her friends.
While she visited she complained that the mattress was hard, pillows were flat, water smelled like sulfur, room was too small, food tasted badly, and that we had not appropriately accommodated her friends. She then posted all of these things to Facebook and failed to write a single positive thing about the trip.
My husband is timid and quiet so he didn't say anything to her about it- despite the fact that he was quite crushed by her rudeness. We work hard to keep our modest apartment and he was proud to show it to her until she bad-mouthed us on the internet.
Since my husband is so timid, I want to politely stand up to her and defend us and our home. Is it appropriate for me to do so if I contact her privately? My husband said he was fine with it, but I'm not sure if I should. Thanks!
