How to plot velocity squared displacement on a graph for physics?
I have two angle measurements (90degrees and say 5.5 degrees) of a right angled triangle, plus the bottom distance say 1.5m and the side or height measurement (say 12cm).
This is for physics. We are only given 5 average speeds (velocity m/s) and 5 different distances of a free rolling car moving down a slope before stopping at a stopper. No other details are given, i.e car weight, friction, time etc. I've explained them well conceptually, so don't need to included these other parameters into any equations.
I have been reading Physics for dummies, particularly about "falling slowly: gravity and friction." which is chapter 5 pg 82 with the specific section titled "Leaning vertically with inclined planes" and added one of the two pages covering it.
I have also graphed average velocity on X axis and the 5 different positions the car was set at, plotted on the Y axis, which shows me a convex upwards curve.
However I believe I need some help with the underlying physics and mathematics side as I'm feeling totally lost and confused. We are only referring to V=d/t
I'm slowly reading through the unit text book too and googling whatever I can find similar and reading. But it is taking me longer than it should, I think I missing something.
Thanks in advance.

1 AnswerMobile Phones & Plans7 years agoGasGlo central heater unit pilot light not working?
I have a Gasglo central heater unit which the pilot light had gone out and everytime I go to depress the button during relighting the pilot light, it goes out. I can't recall if I did something different last time I got it to work, but I can't get the pilot light to stay lit in order to turn knob to ON.
Anyone else have a gasglo with similar issues and what did you do to light it?
My model is ACP 90
Serial no. 70/188
Instructions are:
Knob in off position
Light match
Press and hold down knob and turn counter clockwise into the Pilot light position
Hold knob depressed for a minute
Release knob
If pilot light goes out, repeat earlier steps (wait 5 mins for gas to dissipate)
Turn knob to ON

2 AnswersBiology10 years agoWhat would be the correct title for this excel histogram/scatterplot figure?
I'm not sure what would be the correct title for this image (see web address below for image of output).
Would it be either:
1 - 'Relationship of blood glucose in comparison to B-hydroxybutyrate', or
2 - 'Distribution of blood glucose relative to B-hydroxybutyrate'?, or
3 - 'Distribution of blood glucose relative to the Relationship of B-hydroxybutyrate', or
4 - 'Distribution and relationship of blood glucose relative to B-hydroxybutyrate levels'?
I have both histogram and scatterplot (smooth line), as shown in my image in external web address. The output didn't display very well if both sets of data were scatter plot format on the one graph; plus I don't want to split the data, as I will be making reference to the increase/decrease of glucose/B-hydroxybutyrate..

1 AnswerOther - Computers1 decade agoIs this a good hypothesis?
This laboratory report attempts to deal with the effect of CO2 as a result of soil respiration and the importance of its relationship with soil organic carbon (SOC), the energy source for microbes. The experiment measured the amount of microbial activity from soils across Victoria (Australia), to provide an overview of each soils associated fertility and nutrient cycling capacity.

It is referring to CO2 respiration, although I am not sure how to interpret the units other than grams centimetres and year.
Here is a screen shot of a book in which it is referencing some units.
1 AnswerHomework Help1 decade agoWhere can I find a good online example of a consultancy report?
I need to write a consultancy report for an agricultural assignment at university, based on animal management. This is the first time I've been required to write this type of report and I am looking for example word documents that I can use which have the structure of the report already laid out.
It would be handy if the example report were associated with agriculture, particularly nutrition (digestion, energy and protein feeding systems, minerals & vitamins or grazing systems) in any stock animal. I will decide what species of farm animal I will focus on after I determine the structure and layout of how the consultancy report should appear.
2 AnswersOther - Education1 decade agoDreamt being chased by bears and then approached by wolves. What does it mean?
The dream started out with one brown bear and I had lunch in my back pack, I ran as fast as I could along a heavily wooded dirt road. I was looking for trees to climb quickly, though they were all too high. I looked behind me a few times though couldn't see the bear, but I kept running and then looked behind a final time and there were several large brown bears behind me. At that moment I looked in front of me and several grey wolves appeared on the dirt road ahead of me.
I considered throwing my lunch into the forest and making a run for it and woke up.
What does this dream mean.

2 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoIf every single person on planet gathered together in one place would the flu disappear?
Of course that wouldn't be possible, although medical cultures could be engineered and handed out to every single person on the planet, ok ....well maybe not everyone but at least 90%, to aid them in contracting the flu all at once across the globe. What would happen, other than the a spike in sales of handkerchiefs (cause not enough tissues for everyone), would the flu disappear? Do we need the flu? I mean what are the advantages of having the flu (other than getting a day or two off work).
Would our immune systems deteriorate following getting over the flu? What would be the chances of ever getting the again in a lifetime in this scenario?
Silly question, but its got me thinking!!

I know in 10.35 a) OH is a functional group, although I wasn't sure whether both oxygens and whether both oxygens in 10.35 b) were both functional groups.
In 10.36, again I knew OH and certain NH are func. groups, though not certain about the N.
Same issue for 10.37 and 10.38, could someone please give me some hints, I'm new at this and want to make sure I understand this properly.

See link for a picture showing the graph I need to create. You may need to copy and paste it into your web browser:

I have no idea how to do this, after trying lots of different things in excel 2007 and 2010, googling and reading up in excel 2007 for dummies I am still none the wiser on how to make this style graph.
For example: The following data relates to salinity levels at certain depths in a soil profile, which are measurements of electrical conductivity at 1:5 ratio and expressed as dS/m.
0.0001 - 5.5 cm
0.0930 - 17.5 cm
0.0364 - 20.5 cm
Gravel - 23
0.0005 - 50.5 cm
0.0410 - 75 cm
2 AnswersEarth Sciences & Geology1 decade agoWhats the best way to determine ten year average of one hundred year annual rainfall?
I have data in an excel spreadsheet with annual rainfall each year for 100 years, which is for a specific location and I want to work out how to calculate the average annual rainfall for 10 years to discuss climate in a report I'm writing for a bachelor course. Can someone explain how to go about choosing the data set to use for the calculation, as I have no clue how to do it?
I only have each years total average annual rainfall data in a workable format i.e. 1900 (640 mm), 1901 (785 mm) upto the year 2000 (750 mm), not each day, week or month.
If I want to then mention a ten year average annual rainfall in my report, as a comparison to the 100 years average annual rainfall (734.67mm) i.e. in terms of trends/cycles (for example); would a 10 year average be too highly variable, that is according to which specific set of 10 years worth of data I choose within the data available for 100 years annual rainfall? For example, the following ten years: 1945 (372 mm), 1946 (669), 1947 (737.8), 1948 (555.5), 1949 (763), 1950 (723.4), 1951 (814.7), 1952 (891), 1953 (689.8), 1954 (836.1) 1955 (812mm) NOTE: 1945 is the lowest annual rainfall within the 100 years of data; then consider and compare this to another 10 year period: 1911 (974.4mm) is the highest annual rainfall in the 100 yr period), 1912 (554.7), 1913 (633.9), 1914 (569.9), 1915 (499), 1916 (954.6), 1917 (757.9), 1918 (717.4), 1919 (560.5) and 1920 (772.3) NOTE: The year 1911 is the highest annual rainfall in the 100 yr period.
How would I be able to decrease the variability, do I need to access the monthly rainfall to average out each month over ten years i.e. Jan (1911-1920 and 1945-1955), feb.....dec?
