I am mommy to my beautiful boy, Samuel, 8 months old. He was born by crash emergency section due to fetal distress. I had reduced fetal movements and when checked was rushed into theatre. Everyday I am thankful for my baby boy, and thankful to all the staff who cared for him in neonatal at Heartlands hospital. I saved my baby's life by acting as soon as I felt something was wrong and hope to help others to do the same.

this isn't a question but some info for anyone worried about your baby's movements. At 39 wks i noticed a change in my son's movements and all the usual stuff didn't work so i called the maternity unit who called me in for a check up on the monitor. within minutes of being there i was rushed for an emergency caesarean as my son was in distress. I saved my son's life by acting on my instincts. The staff at the hospital told me his heart was slowing down and he was still to conserve energy and if i had left it he most definitely would have died. I am very lucky to have a beautiful son who only had to spend 4 days in special care. PLEASE however small you think your problem is, call the hospital, the midwives told me that they never think of anyone as time wasters.
