Sorry for the long post. Alright here's the deal. I'm 17, have my license, and saved up $5,000 to buy a car. I'm actively searching for a job and am applying everywhere without their assistance. I have enough saved up to pay for six month's worth of gas and maintenance and repairs that might come up. I checked insurance quotes and made a choice on a car that has a lower insurance rate, which surprisingly is a mustang. Insurance for that is about half what it would be to get a truck which was my first choice. It's reliable, decent on gas, cheap to fix, and fun to drive. My parents can easily afford insurance on the truck so this would be no issue. The problem is that they are delaying as much as possible to basically prevent me from growing up and becoming more independent. I already told them that I'll be paying for maintenance, gas, and the car itself and am willing to pay 1/4 of the insurance. I showed them the carfax of the one I'm interested in and have been searching since my birthday. They keep saying "You can start looking for a car." That was back in December and they seem to ignore the aspect that I'm going to need the car. I'm tired of taking the bus, relying on them for rides, and being the only one in my shop class (automotive technology) to not have a car. I can fix almost anything on the car myself so that lowers the cost of ownership. Another thing is they won't let me buy tools to start working as a mechanic, and I've been turned down of jobs for not having tools. Is there anything I can do? Can I just go to the bank and pull the money and buy the car myself? I have proven that I'm responsible. I don't drink/smoke, listen to their rules, all that. I've missed party after party because they didn't want to drive or lend the car.

I just finished an IQ test and received a score of 127. I'm 16 going onto 17. Is this any good?

Okay well I want to give my hand at rapping. Eminem is my idol and I listen to his songs 90% of the day almost everyday. I listen to others as well such as Tyga, Lil Wayne, Tupac, Biggie, and the such. I can spit basic rhymes with disses in them on paper really easily but once it comes to in person I can't get anything going. Any tips for me? Thanks!
