  • So, whats up with this guy?

First things first, I'm still in two minds about this guy.

We've known each other for the last few years and I'm sort of interested in him but:

-he acts quite cold in most texts/ messages

-he acts sweet and bashful when we meet in person but this doesn't communicate itself any other time

-he has heaps of girls who he is friends with and I think i'm ok looking but it makes me think that I won't have a chance at all

-I'm usually the one to initiate conversations/ meetings

-he is so sweet/ cute/ funny/ nice but it seems like he's in to partying a lot more than I am

So, what do you think? Do I have a shot with him or should I just give up? Is he just trying to play it cool or only talking to me because he's nice?

    I am so puzzled.

Thanks in advance, and please, please, please no nasty comments

    :)

  • Do guys like girls who make the first move?

So, I really like this guy and I think he likes me. I asked him out with some of my friends and I tend to be the one who starts conversations ect. So, do guys like girls who initiate things or should I wait for him to? Any other general dating tips would be great too!

    Thanks in advance

  • Can a pair of budgies share a breeding box?

    Hi,

I have an aviary with two pairs of budgies who I want to breed. I was planning to take one pair out in the spring to breed the pairs in separate cages. I haven't done that yet because its winter in Australia but today I saw one female enter a breeding box I already have in it, but a few minutes later (after the first one came out) the other female went in.

Does that mean they are laying eggs?

Should I take one pair out and set up a breeding situation now?

Should I just add the other breeding boxes I have?

Any ideas about what I should do?

    Thanks!!!!

  • SOS got a new puppy and she's hassling my other dog??

She's 8 weeks old, he's 2 yo. He has never really been into playing but she keeps jumping at him and hanging onto his tail. He gets scared and runs away but she just chases him. What is the best way to deal with this?

Should I keep stopping her? Or let her do it in the hope that he will growl at her to stop?

P.S they are both Cavaliers and he is extremely gentle

    Thanks in advance

  • I just got a sandpit for my dog, is it bad if he eats some sand?

When I was teaching him to dig in it, I noticed that he had to use his muzzle to push the sand out of the way (he's a Cavalier and has a very short muzzle) and eat the treat, but ate some sand too. Is this a problem? What will happen if he eats too much? I'm getting a puppy in a few weeks, will it matter if she eats a bit of sand?

    Thanks :)

P.S serious answers only please :)

  • Any advice on training a new puppy?

I'm getting another Cavalier in about 4 weeks (she's 3 and a bit weeks now) and need some advice on basic training. I have a two year old Cavalier so I know how to teach sit, drop, stay, come ect but can't remember the basics of leash and collar training and things like that. Any advice?

Also, she'll be quite small when we get her, so should I still let her and my other dog play? Or should I wait till she's older and bigger? Or should I just supervise them.

Any relevant advice would be great :)

    Thanks

  • Does my dog sound lonely?

He's left alone for between 4-6 hours a day, but we walk him most mornings so he seems to sleep for most of the time. My mum's concerned as she thinks he gets lonely but how can we tell? Short of staying home, what can we do to help him? Is getting another dog the answer?

  • Do you think my dog and I will be ready to compete in this trial?

I'm 16, my dog is 2 (last October). We've been doing obedience training since he was 6 months old. I was planning to wait to compete in obedience until half way through this year. Today I saw an add for a trial on 13 march. Do you think I should enter?

He is good at each stay and stand for examination but still needs some work in heeling and recalls. Do you think its worth entering this trial or should I just stick to my original goal.

Thanks to all who answer, I know its a bit of a complicated question :)

    Thanks again!

  • My vet 'suggested' putting my dog on a diet. Is this a good diet for a dog?

He is a two year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and I feed him raw (so no suggestions of diet kibble thanks :)

On a typical day he will get:

1 raw meaty bone (chicken neck, chicken wing or lamb)

    50 g of mince

1 cup vegetables (to help him feel full)

He also gets the occassional kong and some recreational bones, so I will adjust what I feed him for the rest of the day.

I'm also walking him 2-3 times a day

Does this diet sound like it would work?

Any ideas on how long it would take him to lose 1/2- 1 kg?

    Thanks in advance

  • What can I feed an allergic dog?

I think my two year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is allergic to wheat. Is it still ok to feed him oats? What else can I give him. I am currently feeding raw.
