  • Y and R...more trivia about Heather?

Here's more did you know? Elizabeth Hendrickson, who plays Chloe, was on AMC at the same time Eden (who plays Heather) was. She played twins Frankie and Maggie, while Eden played Bianca, Erica's daughter, and Maggie eventually had an affair with Bianca.

  • Why aren't my cucumber plants growing?

So I planted cukes that I had germinated in a greenhouse. I also planted some from the same batch in a friend's garden (same soil, same compost, same sunlight, etc.). she has giant plants now and is getting tons of cukes. Mine are still small and while they flower, they don't produce any cukes. What am I doing wrong??? No evidence of bugs eating on them.

  • Starting seeds in a greenhouse?

I'm getting ready to start my seeds for a vegetable garden. This is the first year I've had a greenhouse and I have no clue how to use it. Should I start my seeds indoors first? The temps here are about 65 in the day now and high 30s at night. Please note: I'm not going out to buy heating matts, so please don't suggest that...I'd rather just keep them inside. Any tips are appreciated!

  • y&r - finally some action!?

today's episode was fantastic. it appears to me that victor knows the truth about faith since he crumpled up the picture? maybe the new writers are finally getting some steam. here's hoping - would love to see phyllis' face when the truth comes out.

  • Emily's surprise? Do you still think it's pregnancy?

Do you still think it's that she's pregnant? Chloe said (about the surprise) "it's right over here." Is Patti assuming it's a pregnancy?

Also, does anyone feel like the writers are making Paul a clueless sap? I love him - he needs a real storyline, not just the devoted, crying brother.

  • Good first songs to learn on guitar?

My son who is 16 has been learning guitar (electric). He switched from violin so he's picked it up pretty quickly. He needs to give his instructor a song he wants to learn. He likes what I like (rock) so I'm thinking something Led Zeppelin or such. Can you recommend a song that is not too hard but still rockin? Please don't say Smoke on the Water.

  • what is a good way to tip your garbage collector during the holidays?

I've always wanted to give them a small tip (I can't afford much) but I don't know how to leave it for them safely (I'm not home when they collect.) Any suggestions on how you have done this? Should I trust humanity to not take it if I tape a card to the trash can? I live on a country road.

  • My cycle is all screwed up - help?

I'm 43 and for the past two years my periods have been irregular. Sometimes very late, sometimes every two weeks, sometimes they last a day, others two weeks. I also get hot flashes in the morning (only). My doctor says I'm not menopausal and seems unconcerned. But this has gone on for a long time now. Anyone have advice / opinions?

  • Dog training question?

I am taking my dog - still a pup (one year in Dec and a shepherd mix) to our obedience class. This is our second session. The first one was a disaster. King did not misbehave, but he is very vocal (he talks to us all the time). Dogs on either side of us came over several times and bothered him, yipping and snarling but he stayed with me and behaved. However, because he was vocal, the instructor kept putting us in time out. When we weren't in time out, her asst. was yakking in my ear. I didn't hear any of the instruction and my practice time during class was almost zero. I pretty much lost it at the end and told her I didn't learn a thing because I was excluded from the class 90% of the time.

Also, the trainer said at the end that "alpha dog training is a bunch of hooey," which I don't agree with. I trained all of my dogs using the Monks of New Skeet method and I believe in it.

So, what would you do? I'm considering just dropping out of the class. I don't feel that her methods will work with King and I can't even be sure since I've only heard a portion.

What is your idea of a good training program and how should I approach this?

  • Freelance online websites?

Ok so I signed up on a freelance site and immediately started getting projects to bid on. The problem is I think it's just another internet scam. They want me to write 100 500 word articles in two weeks for $250. Freelancers who sell to magazines typically make about 1000 for a 1200 word article. Has anyone had any success with freelance sites? I am NOT looking for freelance websites - I'm asking for people who have done it and their experience.

Spammers, be aware - I do NOT want your .biz websites and I will have your answer removed immediately.

  • Dog on springs steals food - help?

My dog is a shepherd mix, almost one year old. His training has gone well - he's super smart. If I turn my back for a minute, he jumps up to steal food (e.g. I made a banana bread loaf today and it's now in his tummy - it was way at the back of the counter, blocked by other stuff, and covered). he will even jump up and eat from hot pans while the food is still cooking. please don't say supervise him better - i have four kids and he is lightening fast - the bread was gone in two minutes. i need a way to deter him from literally jumping onto the counter. i think he has a future in dog frisbee.

  • Birthday gift help (kid bday)?

My daughter is going to a birthday party for a nine year old today. Mom said "no gifts" but I feel like I should send something small? Will this offend her? I also am planning to make a donation to our local SPCA in his name.
