Should Michelle Wie be allowed to compete with men on PGA tour events?

Why not? As long as she hits from the same tees they do and thus plays the same course, let her at 'em.

The Billie Jean King v. Bobby Riggs thing was a farce that showed nothing. . what most people don't remember is that she was allowed to hit into a doubles court, while he had to play into a singles court.

Patronizing handicaps hurt rather than help.

PGA vs. LPGA. Both men and women have an environment to play, win and earn in professional golf. I don't see the point, much like Billy Jean King taking on Jimmy Connors way back when in tennis. Was it a fun match yes but did it truly prove women are better than men at tennis... That's yours to decide.

Wie rocks and I love her game but I don't care which tour she plays on as long as she plays and enjoys the sport while giving children a positive role model to inspire them.

Woods vs. Wie - match play or skins, could be fun and really cool to watch.

As much as I love Michelle Wie, I'd say no. she hasn't earned that right yet. Michelle hasn't earned it yet because she hasn't won in the LPGA. Until Wie dominates the women's tournament like Annika Sorenstam, she shouldn't be competing against the men. Of course, if her desire is to be the best golfer in the world, then she has to play in the mens tournament.

I don't think she is either good or bad for feminism- it really isn't related. I think her opportunities are more related to marketing strategies and attempting to reach a larger audience. The treatment of her may be bad for golf. I always feel bad for people who take criticism based on the actions of others. Should she turn down endorsements or opportunities even is she doesn't think she is as qualified as others? Not many people would turn down 10 million a year to make sure another golfer got their fair shot, especially when the person she is knocking out also has a small chance of winning.

No, she has not yet reached a point where she can be competitive with them. She needs to stick with the LPGA. As it currently stands, she is only allowed so much time off from school. As a result she is only playing a limited amount.
