What is your favorite tradition that you share with your family?

In my family, we had a lot of traditions when I was very young.  Now that my sisters and I are grown and married (some with children), many of our traditions have been lost.

My favorite that we still do, however, is that we always pass around the same strange and irritatin gifts each year from person to person.  One is a set of ringing Christmas bell decorations, and another is ths "chirping bird".  Both make such hideous sounds that we just had to make them a part of our annual celebration.

One we started our self's for our kids we Would wrap a empty box with Christmas wrap and place it under the tree for Jesus and each child would write their own letter to Jesus to tell him what they would like to give him more or less! They would say that they would do their best to not fight or other things they knew that Jesus didn't like or they would write what they would give to him if they could! And every Christmas morning that was the first thing pulled out from under the tree and their dad would open it and pass each child their letter if they could read and they would read the letter out loud! If they couldn't read then their dad would read them! For after all we celebrate Christmas to celebrate Jesus birthday! So that was their gift to him and it didn't matter if they had anything under the tree or not that made them fill good!
