Sophie breaks the curse that holds Calcifer and Howl together, therefore breaking the curse on her, like calcifer agreed in the beginning. Heen (the dog) reports to Suliman, who saw that Howl broke the spell and found his love, so Suliman decides to end the war. She wanted to wage a war against him and all the rebel wizards who use their magic for vain reasons, to prove that they were going to die from vanity. but seeing as sophie broke the curse, she knew it could be done, so she ended it. does that help?...Show more

wasnt it because that stick thing was really a prince? Sophie kissed him and turned back into a prince.....he then wanted sophie to marry him but she said no since she is in love with howl. I think it was the prince who stopped the war. i've seen this movie four months ago......i forgot....Show more
