What could be the problem with my CD burner?

Question

I can only burn certian songs from my files and the others it tells me I have an error, and when I burn photos, I can't open the disk after it is done. It may do half of an audio cd then shuts down. I had a friend put some photos on a disk at her house and I can 't even open it on my pc. What could be the problem.

I am getting a new computer in a few weeks, so I dont' really want to spend more money on this one, I just wanted to put all of my songs and photos on the new one.

You can always try a disc cleaner disc, but my guess is that the drive needs to be replaced.  If you haven't already gotten a DVD drive, you might as well get one of those, since the prices on them have become very reasonable.  Those will also burn and read CD's, as well as DVD's.  Below is a link on newegg.com for some DVD drives, some around $30 that would work well.

I hate to not answer this but I have the same freaking problem. I used to be able to burn songs. Now it always tell me that my blank disk isnt blank.

Don't worry bout it. Just get nero. It works.Its like the best expensive do.I got nero 7 ultra edition.Works great just get on bitcommet u can get it at http://WWW.DOWNLOAD.COM/ 
search up bittcommet go to torrentspy and search  4 nero. doesnt cost a cent and is %100 legel good luck!
