Where can i find home remedies for the lower back and pinched sciatic nerve.?

I have little-no money and my boyfriend pulled his lower back so bad that he wound up going to chiropractor. He was walking when he went in and by the time he got home, he could barely walk. He's got a pretty high tolerance for pain, and can't take any muscle relievers that aren't prescribed by a Dr. for him. he has been down and in bed for almost 5 days now. The longest I have helped him around the house was maybe 4 hours, and that 'bout got the best of him. Is it possible that the chiropractor could have done more damage than good?

I have been plagued with this off and on for the last 20 years I finally found a doctor to help me.

Long story short: you buy a an OVER-THE DOOR CERVICIAL TRACTION KIT, at CVS , Walmart etc. the kit contains a big plastic bag, a rope, a harness for your chin and head, and a pulley that rests on top of a door you use it two-three times a day, 15 minutes per session, Only 15 minutes NOT any longer

You fill the bag with water , it goes by your weight , I weigh 150 lbs so I fill the bag with 4 lbs of water my husband also has this problem he weighs 200 lbs so he uses 5 lbs of water pounds of water (there's a red line that indicates that amount as well as lesser volumes), put the harness under your chin and skull, sit down in a chair, and let the weight — via the rope and pulley — exert a steady pull upward under your head.

That's it.

Nothing will happen until about the fourth day, when you will suddenly noticed that the pain seemed less intense ..

With each subsequent session it will get better.

After another week or so the pain and ache will be gone ..

This is how it workes:
This device
Stretches the spine just enough to open up the tight space and just the tiniest amount was enough to relieve the pressure off the nerve and allowed healing. best of luck to you, and I swear by this device...it worked miracles for us...

why doesn't your boyfriend ask the question himself?
Anyway, chiropractors (are not MD's) realign the body and they don't give medications. If you are afraid his chiropractor did something that injured your bf then check out the chiropractor online to see if he had any other complaints.

I've had four superb chiropractors over a long period of time, they all did the same thing (what they do must be a taught method), and all of them solved my problem will my back went out again. They were great. And yes, when a chiropractor puts your back back in place it will hurt for a while and you need to rest and take advil and use cold packs.

These days they make a stronger Advil, however taking them without eating first, and taking them day after day over a long period of time can damage other organs....so tell him to use the cold packs and rest.

On the other hand, going to an MD would mean a longer period of recuperation plus medications. If he is afraid something had occurred at the chiropractor's office or something is really torn in the back, then have the MD take x-rays.

No home remedies here, but I would call the chiropractor first thing and tell them what went wrong. There may not be a pinched sciatic nerve - it could be misdiagnosed by the chiropractor. The chiropractor made my lower back injury worse. I had to quit going.

Of course, I highly recommend physical therapy. If that is not possible, please check out Robin McKenzie's book "Treat Your Own Back." If having difficulty obtaining the results you need, it would be best to go through at least a couple sessions with a McKenzie trained PT who can help you sort through the appropriate exercises.

Please be advised, that if your boyfriend has any of the following, that medical care is imperitive: loss of bowel/bladder control, symptoms that constantly radiate to both lower extremeties, focal weakness (such as inability to flex the foot or buckeling of the knee) and increase in pain with coughing or sneezing.

I won't comment on the chiropractor, sorry ;)...but I suppose you can guess what I might say.
