In most states you can't work without a work permit from your school and a signature from your parents until you're at least 15 years of age. This is because of the child labor laws.
If you're a good typist and have good language skills maybe you can put up a flier around your local high school and colleges that are looking for people to type their term papers for a price. You can make pretty good money typing up a term paper. Be sure however it's okay with your parents using the computer and stuff.
But at 13 you're still so young to be worrying about money. However, you're old enough to start babysitting if you live where there are people looking for someone to babysit for them for a few hours after school or on weekends. This is what my 13 yr old daughter is looking into doing herself.
Good luck!

You should become self-employed and beat the minimum wage.

If you are handy you could go around a new neighborhood with a cordless drill installing peep holes in doors. I have a cousin who made decent money doing this.

You can mow lawns or shovel sidewalks. Or watch people's animals when they go out of town.

You can collect refundable cans and bottles.

Older people love when a kid is an ambitious hard worker. Put that to use. Older people you already know probably have chores they will pay you to do.
