It just seems to me that the way things are going, the world is on a downhill slide. More and more teenagers are having children, they don't respect their elders. Political correctness is way too over the top. People can't even have an opinion anymore without some group being offended. You can't discuss religion or politics in a civil manner because if your opinion differs from someone else, then you get attacked. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but it just seems that everything is going down the toilet. What do you think and why ?

Nope. it is not.
The highest rate of teenage pregnancy (in the USA) happened in the 1950's It has gone down ever since.
Respect for elders is about the same as always...look at the 1950's greasers and 1960's hippies. Then look at the 1920's flappers.
Senators used to actually beat each other up in the U.S. congress back in the 1800's, and anyone considered "insulted" used to fight to the death in duels
Murder rate per person is also dropping over the centuries, and as we saw in the 1990's, crime has very recently dropped very significantly overall.
What you see is two things.
One, everyone with a decent childhood sees their childhood as a time when elders were respected, and they felt safe. As you grow older and learn more, you see bad things happen and payt more attentikon...
at the same time, the power of media in our lives has increased, so we hear more about all the bad things that happen worldwide...
Things are actually improving as time goes on, it's just nostalgia and youthful naievete that make the past seem so much better.
I think you're getting a bit carried away. The world is probably no worse or better than it's ever been. Bigotry is a far bigger problem than political correctness, which seems to be a rather worn down crutch for the right wing media to lean on.
Not only that, but there has been more hideously annoying ethnicity/race jokes. Plus, generalistic country bashing. I thought Yahoo was a mature place? The world is certainly going downhill.
You are right when you say you're wrong. You're just what we call a pessimist, there's always been things good and bad in society throughout history, but when you look at the ceiling and all you can see are the cracks in it, that's when you know the problem is not with the world, but with yourself.
