Doing my own taxes online question?

Ok so someone suggested that I do my own taxes online this year. They said it is pretty easy and my taxes are pretty simple and basic anyway. So I do not have an issue with doing them that way. But where is the best (fastest, most reliable, trustworthy, easy, etc)place to do them online yourself. Also whenever you do them online do you have to have a bank account or can they send you a check?

go to the IRS website and click on the link for freefile. it is a free service and you do not need a bank account. it can be mailed to your house. the website is www.irs.gov

I've used taxact's free online service several times in previous years and you can have it direct deposited if you'd like or you can have a check mailed to you! One thing to remember when filing your taxes with an online service, if you want to use one of their signature pages you must know your AGI from last year or your pin number if you filed it online last year!

You can do either direct deposit or they can send you a check. If you go to http://irs.gov, they have a list of all the companies that do online programs. I've used TurboTax online and had no problems with it. It's straightforward and simple.

www.taxact.com
very easy to use. I don't think you have to have a bank account either.
