dry air in my room... PLEASE HELP!!!?

I'm here in Jeddah right now. I'm not sure if our air in my room is actually dry coz, we don't have winter in here, during christmas, the coldest was about 10degree celsius. i just observed that i easilly got thirsty when i'm inside my room or i always have dry lips.

other info.

There is only small window in my room and most of the time closed.
I do smoke inside my room.
Always use A/C.

Question?
Are these things result to dry air?
what would be the best way to moisturize the air?

by the way i open the window once in a while when smoking. i also have a roommate he's my friends father. he do smoke too. i'm not sure if he's opening the window everytime he smokes. s there any other idea coz, i'm not thinking of buying something that can be noticed. he's the owner of the room don't want to offend him that i don't like his room. just came in when he invited me to stay in his house while looking for my own pad near my office.

I doubt the air is dry in Jeddah , it is exactly the opposite , Jeddah has one of the highest relative humidity index in Saudi Arabia especially in summer time which I think cause your body to sweat excessively and feeling thirsty which is normal in Jeddah weather
Other Condition might be medical like Diabetes Inspedius which cause excessive water loss in urine usually confirmed by checking serum and urine osmolality test , urine specific gravity .24h urine collection of urine , serum and urine electrolytes and ADH suppression tests

I don't know if you would look into getting an appliance, the other ideas are good too, but I remember when I was little girl my parents would put humidifiers in the bedrooms. You just fill it with water and it warms it and water vapor comes out to add moisture to the air. I haven't used one since, I don't know why we stopped using them during the winters. Probably just got lazy.

Oh and about the smoking - I've always noticed my contacts dry out big time when in a bar that allows smoking, so it may cause dry air.

Absolutely
A/C works by drawing the moisture out of the air.
Also I would open the window or smoke outside. In a closed room there's no place for the smoke to go.
Try using a bucket of water (and you can also add a little vinegar to it) The water will increase the amount of moisture in the room and the vinegar will offset the smell of smoke.

Find an outdoor fountain that is self contained and fill with water. Keep it filled and put a bromine tablet in the water once a week. I have them all through the house and our house is much nicer this year. The static cling is gone and the zapping is gone. My skin is better. I'm thinking of putting some in our bedrooms this next year. I buy them when they are on clearance. I go through 5 gallons of water in my one in the living room and the one in my game room I go through 4 gallons. I have fireplaces and live where we have little to no snow usually until this year...I run them even in the summer and have no issues then either. My plants love them.
