What do you consider to be the last "true" musclecar?

Ignore the current vettes/mustangs, etc please - The new stuff is great but I'm looking for pre - 80's rides...

Last TRUE muscle car...given the last production date of this vehicle and being before the auto manufacture changes....Would be the 1971 Corvette 13.72@102.04
454 LS6 ...450c.i. ...4-Speed. The vehicle produced 450hp. I would consider that being the last true muscle car....Many mopars and stangs were right up there in power-but being the last modle produced would have to go with the Corvette.

got to go with the 79 Trans Am, however most muscle cars hit their aesthetic peak in '69 (roughly)

probably the 79 trans am with the 6.6 litre engine would be the last in the 70's.

I'd have to say that a 1968-1972 Camaro, umm it all depends on wat your into i'd have to say that the chargers, challengers, camaros, trans am's, mustangs, falcons, any car with a big motor made before 1972 was a muscle car but not all it kinda depends on what it is but i like but it has to be made b4 72 to be a true muscle car but a few were made after 72' it all depends on wat ya like.

That guy's right with the trans am 6.6, would have been my answer.
