Why does it seem everyone hates the PS3?

I have it, I enjoy it, I don't have an Xbox360, but it seems like a cool machine. However, the negative press the PS3 is getting seems hardly deserved.

I get the feeling there's a cnspiracy afoot.

Conspiracy? Well I guess when questions are posted that seem like they were posted by microsoft employees then I quess it might appear that way.

But over all you get what you pay for. The ps3 is very expensive and is worth it. THe xbox is expensive but not as expensive as ps3 and doesn't have all the stuff ps3 is capable of either.
Wait until xbox fans find out that the hdmi output microsoft put on the elite isn't the latest and when compared head to head with ps3, the ps3 will still out perform.

The wii seems to be the a little of both worlds and is awesome.

We own all three and I was very let down when I saw the specs on the new "Elite" from xbox. When will Microsoft learn that gamers aren't like companies. We are not restricted by a monopoly to only being able to have one system. They need to do it right the first time or step aside. Thank goodness for the competition between the big three or we wouldn't have such awesome systems.

1. Very expensive. I MIGHT buy it when it's time for a price drop, but I gotta say that Xbox 360 looks like a much better choice right now.
2. Seems more like something a tech-freak would buy, someone who needs the latest and flashiest graphics/sounds to satisfy their needs. The Wii goes beyond that and instead introduces completely new gameplay elements thanks to its controller(s).
3. I've heared the backwards compatibility is not working all that well, for example some games seem to get slow.
4. No dualshock. Seriously Sony, why?
5. Half-assed motion-sensing controls. For example, people have complained about the bad tilt sensitivity. And it's not as versatile as the Wii-mode, which can be held vertically, horizontally and inserted into various objects such as steering wheels (saves a lot of money).
5. Numerous delays that adds to the frustration, especially the fact that it's being released in Europe so late.
6. Not a very impressive games catalogue so far.
7. The thing is freakin huge (ok not really a valid reason, but it had to be said :P)

And this is not what every one thinks some people like the PS3.

You sort of have to blame Sony. For one thing, the launch was a disaster. Not enough PS3 to go around, so people were fighting. Thanks to the shortage, those that got it put it on Ebay and made a lot of money, while the true gamers got angry because they wanted a PS3 but can't get one due to the shortage or afford one from Ebay. Finally, there's the lackluster games. Took Sony about 3 months before a good game came out besides Resistance.

Sony also didn't make good use of the Sixaxis, unlike Nintendo which made good use of the Wii-mote. If the Sixaxis is supposed to be such a great thing, why weren't more games using it? I think the lack of a rumble also hurt Sony. Gamers have been used to the Dual Shock for over a decade, and then all of a sudden, it disappears.

There's Sony's attitute toward the launch fiasco. Sony knew it was a disaster, and yet, read all the interviews from Sony's top brass, and each one of them put a positive spin on the launch. Not one person was willing to admit that the launch was a major disaster.

Sony is the king of the kill for the past decade, so everyone is more than happy to knock Sony down, so even the smallest Sony mistake gets blown up.

I have a xbox360 and a friend of mine has the ps3. I think the ps3 is pretty sweet. Would I get it over the xbox360 no due to the fact I really love FPS games, however ps3 has some great games out there.

I think most people hate the ps3 due to its cost. If you actually take the time to break down the cost it isn't that much more then the xbox360.

Let fan boys be fan boys. Sony isn't really helping their cause by standing up and speaking out. They are just taking all the criticism.

Too little for too much cost. Plus, it's foreign.
There are really no PS fanbois. There are Nintendo Fanbois, but the Wii is truly a must-have system. The PS3 just isn't memorable except for the huge cost. A 360 has a wide selection of games, a lot of good ones, and also is $300 cheaper than a PS3. PS3 also lacks the number of available games that 360 has. I wouldn't say it's got negative press, it just didn't shine like the 360 nor the Wii. Plus, kids don't have that much money at their disposal nor does the PS3 have any really great components. The Wii has the player interactivity feature. Pretty sweet when you think we're that much closer to virtual reality. The 360 totes Gears of War and pretty soon Halo 3. (i have doubts for Halo 3 after playing Halo 2 and almost killing Bungie)

There's my 2 cents.
