PS3 Owners Hating on the Xbox 360?

First of all you are clearly a fanboy because you seem to have no actual perspective on the matter. Most PS3 owners defend their console with good arguments that they can back up. As far as I can see most 360 fanboys can't get beyond Halo, Xbox Live and the PS3 isn't selling well because it's more expensive.

Halo is good but it is still overrated. Bungie haven't done anything really new with the series since the first one and for a game that's on a system 2 years after it's release the graphics are pretty poor. Half Life 2 is a much better game than Halo 3 and it's 3 years old. Also Halo 3 was the last in the series, what does that mean as far as future games go?

Admittedly Xbox Live is better but it isn't worth £40/$50 per year. It isn't that much better than the PS3 online which will get Home next spring as well as Little Big Planet. Warhawk is amazing and Unreal Tournament 3 and Metal Gear Online will be coming out next year.

The PS3 isn't more expensive if you really look at it. The PS3 has free online, wi-fi, rechargeable controllers and blu-ray. If you add on the cost of having Xbox Live, a wireless internet adapter, a rechargeable battery pack and a HD-DVD drive it's much more expensive, mainly because Microsoft has overpriced them to recoup the money it loses on each console.

By October the PS3 had sold 5 million consoles and Sony is expecting to sell 11 million by March 2008, it took 2 years for the 360 to sell 11 million and a lot of those were replacements and people who already had a 360 buying the Elite. In 2006 the PS2 beat the 360 on sales 11 million to 6 million and the 360 didn't even have any next-gen consoles to compete against for most of the year.

Most of the better games for the 360 are multi-platform or going to come out on the PC at some point because Microsoft is greedy and wants them for it's Games for Windows. Gears of War has already came out for the PC with extra content and so will Halo 3.

The PS3 has some great exclusive games like Resistance, Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction. Uncharted, Killzone 2, Haze, MGS4, Final Fantasy XIII, Gran Turismo 5, Afrika, Little Big Planet, Tekken 6 and God of War 3 will be coming out exclusively for the PS3. Also the maker of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus is making his next game a PS3 exclusive. If you add these to to multi-platform titles the PS3 definitely has the better lineup.

Unless you suffer some type of eye problem it's clear that PS3 exclusive's graphics are better than 360 graphics. The slight difference in the consoles' shared games is a result of developers having more time with the 360 but most games are nowhere near the limit of the PS3's power while they are pushing the 360's limits.

The PS2 had a lifetime of of six years and the Xbox lasted 4 years. The PS3 is planned to last 7-10 years while the 360 with all it's hardware problems, limiting power and DVD format is going to need a successor in 2-3 years to avoid being over-run by the PS3.

You may consider this me hating on the Xbox 360 but I only stated facts and I believe it's actually 360 fanboys who can't face them.

I don't think Xbox Live really is worth $50 per year, that's $200 in 4 years so even if you get none of the accessories I mentioned the price gap is quickly narrowed just by getting Xbox Live especially when Playstation Network is free and you get a free download of Gran Turismo HD.

Blu- Ray is important because the 8.5GB double layer DVDs that the Xbox uses are too limiting and GTA IV will more than likely be on multiple discs for the 360. 1 level on Killzone 2 takes up 2GB, if developers want to progress they will start making games for the PS3 that just wouldn't fit on the 360. Right now Blu-ray discs on the market can be as much as 50GB ( almost six times the size of a dual layer DVD) but 100GB discs that work on current blu-ray players have been made. The potential that blu-ray has in terms of games is amazing. Of course the Sixaxis is more expensive right now, it has motion control and still needs time for the cost of parts to lower.

Actually out of all the HD-DVD players getting a 360 and the HD-DVD drive is one of the more expensive options. The PS3 is still a pretty competitively priced blu-ray player. Also most places I look HD-DVDs and blu-ray discs are pretty much even on price. I'm not saying that blu-ray has won the format war but for the most blu-ray is in the lead right now.

The 360 is not making a profit yet, I don't know what type of fanboy told you that. In 2005 Microsoft games division's losses were $485 million, in 2006 they were $ 1.25 billion and Microsoft is going to make a loss this year as well. They are expecting to make a profit in 2008 and the PS3 will make a profit in 2009 which is about right considering when they were released.

I think the PS3 is going to last longer than others because of a number of reasons. Although the wii attracts a lot of non-gamers and is selling consoles non-gamers won't buy many games and this will put developers off. The wii will soon look really outdated and Nintendo will need to introduce a successor. Microsoft can't even find what's causing the RROD and so they can't fix it. If more games become too large for the one disc like GTA IV then this will put people off. Many games are pretty much at the capacity of the 360's discs and it's power. When Microsoft releases it's next console they will have to use HD-DVD which is still inferior to blu-ray unless they shell out a lot of money to use blu-ray. The fact that the PS3 is the only console that offers full 1080p HD will also matter as the HD market grows.

The Vice President of Epic games has actually stated that the PS3 isn't harder to develop for. As with all consoles developers need time to become acccustomed to and take full advantage of them. Sony has offered support to developers and many companies see a lot more potential in the PS3.

I think you're underestimating the PS3 games that I mentioned (Ico has a cult following many of whom are looking forward to what Fumito Ueda can do on the PS3) but a lot of the games you mentioned aren't exclusives never mind system sellers.

Firstly even if Microsoft still get money from a Games for Windows game it means that you don't have to get a 360 to play them. Lost Planet has been on the PC since June and is coming to the PS3 early next year with content included that was previously only on the PC. Saints row 2 will be on the PS3, Bioshock is on the PC and is rumoured to be coming to the PS3. Forza and PGR are good but Forza's graphics aren't that good and PGR doesn't have car tuning or modifying, therefore Gran Turismo 5 has them beat.

The Tekken Series is far better than the DOA series. Splinter Cell Conviction is on the PC and Halo 3 will be at some point even if it is a while off. Perfect Dark Zero was a typical first generation game and was pretty poor, Blue Dragon was criticised for it's empty storyline and bad characters and Earth Defense Force 2017 has an average of 6.9 on metacritic.com.

The one exclusive system seller you mentioned is Mass Effect but it suffers because the Xbox doesn't have a hard drive as standard. So it is spoiled by texture pop-up, erratic frame rate and long times spent in lifts that are used to load areas.

Also Killzone 2 looks way better than Gears of War. Look on gametrailers.com especially the HD videos if you've got a good connection.

For a year almost every 360 owner has slammed the ps3. Like you said now the ps3 has some fire power so the 360 owners have little to say yet when the ps3 was difficult to find prior to Christmas 06 and game releases were slow the 360 owners literally proclaimed the 360 the king of the hill and ps3 dead in the water. Questions like which system is better 8 months ago recieved 9 out of ten "ps3 sucks get a 360 more games" Well the ps3 owners become educated and responded with facts.

We own all the systems and they are all great systems and it will only be when people enjoy what they selected and stop worrying about which system sold the most will the slamming of both systems stop. Frankly the 360 owners at least on answers have been extremely aggressive about slamming the ps3.

Websites also present a very biased opinion many of them pro xbox and totally disregarding the true potential of both systems. Competition is good between the two systems , it forces Microsoft and Sony to produce better and better systems. But frankly who cares if your buddy has the 360 and you have the ps3 ...Go to each others homes and exploit the best of both systems.

Edit--- Last longest? - xbox 360 outselling? ---Take 33% off the total number of 360s sold to reflect all the 360s replaced due to RROD. Then take another 7% off to reflect all those 360 owners running out and buying the elite or Halo special edition, so the actual number of different households that own a 360 would be a number to gage the success after it's already been out for 2 years including 2 holiday shopping seasons and entering it's third. When you factor all that in the 360 is a huge financial burden for Microsoft. Since Bungie the maker of HALO series has officially left the exclusive contract with microsoft and will now be creating games for all the systems microsoft better Beware cause other game production companies are following suit because the 360 is far to limiting. it does'nt matter about the price, at least we are getting a well thought out console, I am forced to buy all 3 of the major consoles because of the job. So i am the least biased person there is when it comes to which is better, i base my opinions and what i write.......simply on facts.

PS3 accessories are high priced? What about the hd dvd player, wi fi adapters, and double A batteries (or rechargeable replacements) xbox 360 owners have to buy? All you have to do is research a little and it's obvious which console is better (hardware wise, I'm not going to argue software, except to say Drakes Fortune...biatch).

I'm tired of xbox fanboys flooding the internet. I'm not sure what sites you're visiting but I see xbox lovers everywhere. You can call me a PS3 fanboy, but I only present facts and I do my research. I've played both consoles extensively, which is more than I can say for most xbox fanboys who get their knowledge of the PS3 from 3 minute demos at Wal-mart.

I honestly don't care what any of you buy. I'm not trying to peddle merchandise, I just know which console is going to last the longest and has the most potential. You can buy the 360 and play Halo, but I'll be playing MGS4 and Drakes Fortune being perfectly happy with my choice. I just want to dispel the fanboy lies.

Caleb you may not know this about me, but I'm a sony fanboy, meaning I OWN ALOT OF SONY PRODUCTS including the original playstation, and playstation 2. I must admit, xbox did give a good rivalry with it's superior graphics to ps2 but still, the ps2 felt like a system everyone could play and love. Now on subject, this applies to the same situation, ps3 fanboys aren't true gamers, for they'd know this, the ps3 games, most of them, (although frame is better) look exactly like ps2 games, and less then xbox games. I haven't noted one ps3 game that blows my mind with graphics. And no, no one can come to me wit a game on ps3 that does. As far for good games? Caleb you're wrong, there are enough good games, it's that, there aren't as fun as the one's on 360. I mean look at the 360 exclusives, dead or alive, halo, bioshock, i mean come on, this is something to be taken back by. Also, the ps3 is so so dumb. It's not as fun, the developeers were lazy and just gave the ps3 the psp layout. <lazy asses> where as the 360 layout is suited to microsoft's innovative atmoshphere. The ps3 lacks great online playability, where as for the last few years xbox has dominated. I like both systems, and I am a sony fanboy, but as a pproud owner of a 360, and probably a person who is not going to buy a sony system until the new playstation 4? comes out in years later, I'd like to say, the ps3 was highly over anticipated, it's highly overrated, but it's still a good system. The imaturity of some can really get a person annoyed. I am a person who prefers the 360, over the otehr systems, but the only time I stick up for my console is when someone says that the new Gimmick console released by nintendo entitled the Wii, is better, when it is quite plainly nto. I personally believe that both systems have their ups and downs, but the 360 is still the better system. I may be the only one, but it seems to me like PS3 fanboy owners don't want to face the facts. The system costs too much (still), not enough good games, the graphics are still on par with 360, online is bare minimum good, the accessories are mind-blowingly high-priced, and it is just not an everyone-can-play system
