You very well could die. This is a very high dose (10x normal) and could cause extreme hypotension (low blood pressure) and bradycardia (low heart rate), even less fun seizures, and severe bronchospasms (which can cause respiratory arrest).
An overdose of Toprol XL (metoprolol) could be fatal (in a very unpleasant way, I might add) or with prompt medical attention you may survive with untold physical and/or mental deficits. =(
I hope this helps

Toprol XL is a longer acting form of the base drug. It is a beta blocking agent that causes a decrease in your blood pressure, and if your blood pressure falls to the point where you become hemodynamically unstable your cardiovascular system will collapse and death can occur very quickly afterwards. A person may die from taking far fewer than 10 of those pills at once.
I am concerned for you that you are asking this question. If there are issues going on in your life that you need some help with, please talk to somebody.

Sometimes the Medication could be the culprit. However, if he has been on these medications for three years, it could be something else. Is it just his sex drive, or is he unable to get an erection? Elevated blood pressure causes damage to the blood vessels over periods of time. Since the penis is a vascular organ, and relies on good circulation to create an erection, this damage can sometimes create difficulty in this area. Diabetes, being overweight, and having high cholesterol are also contributing factors. If he is having trouble getting an erection, make sure that he is in good health and that his BP is well controlled (around 120/60-135/80). If it is just his "sex drive", Lotrel and Toprol can both cause these problems. Talk to your doctor. If his meds are not the problem, then talk to your husband. Don't pressure him. It will only make the situation worse.
