In 2028 as an independent and I spent all my spare time gathering supporters on the internet on sites like this and Myspace and Youtube, and gave speeches as much as a could, what would my chances of actually gaining enough support be? I would be 39 by that time, 18 now, I am going to college to major in Institutions and Policy (a mix of history, poli sci, and some other stuff) and then on to law school somewhere. I would be a middle of the road candidate, because I say it's been too long since we've had somebody who actually has the interests of America, and not their party, at heart.

this is a long shot at the moment.
only advice i have is keep your eye on the prize.
if you are up for this colossal endeavor, your discipline will have to be exemplary. your chances are great if you find the right people to collaborate with along the way.
Your problem, is that your positions will change ( unless you're a d*** fool !) over that time . Then , having gone on record , it will be used against you . In 2028 , Carl Rove jr will be running ads 24/7 calling you a "flip-flopper. ;D Seriously though, the path you propose is exactly what we DON'T need . Politicians that have spent their whole careers in government, law, and politics , usually don't know anything else , and tend to be quite clueless about Realityville. In other words, produces the kind of politician you decry. Not saying , don't try to be president ( although do have to question the fitness of any that actually want it) , just take a different route. Live a real life , & come back to the politics after you've learned a few things that matter. Good Luck.
It is possible 4 u to become president, but it depends what u will be and do in the next 20 years. What will be ur occupation b4 u try to run? if u try to gain supporters this early, it's rather u're dreaming or really dedicated. I won't understand what u aspire cuz i am prohibitted from ever becoming president unless the Constitution changes, and I always thought that 4-8 years is only a part time job. |)
We'd have to see how far technology comes in another ten years. Because campaigning online is becoming a highly used way for candidates nowadays (look at YouTube)
Not good - no president has ever been elected at 39. Please look for your support else where, as I will still be alive. Serve as Governor then & run as President in late 40s.
