There are quite a few, including, but not limited to - Card captors (otherwise known as Card Captor Sakura - which should be watched in the original Japanese, as the English dubbed is missing several episodes) and Fruits Basket (otherwise known as 'Furuba' - and contains some mystical plot line about the Chinese zodiac, but mostly revolves around friendship, love, death and salvation.)
There is also Haibane-Renmie, which deals with issues such as grief, death, personal loss, hope, friendship et cetera, but I'd only suggest that one to you if you enjoy shows that delve into the human psyche.
Both Card Captors and Fruits Basket are also available as manga, where, as far as I can tell, Haibane-Renmei is only released as anime.
And, just for andy -
The term 'shojo' or "shoujo" means 'girl love' so it is more to do with female couples than just "girls' anime."

kamichama karin is good one, its an anime AND a manga, but so far kamichama karin the anime isnt finished yet.
also try reading mamotte lollipop! it has an anime but so far only 2 are subbed.
another one would be pretear watch the ANIME cuz you cant find the manga online.
tokyo mew mew is a rele good one also.
(by the way, i think the term 'shoujo' would be best used for a girls only anime cuz its a japanese category which literally means 'girl'

Nope. Boys watch 'em too. Here're my favorites:
Cardcaptor Sakura (Anglicized to "Cardcaptors")
Tokyo Mew Mew (Anglicized to "Mew Mew Power")
rabbit on the moon
Two that come to mind are Pretty Sammy and Chobits.
