You can ask the Excel 2003 user to use the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for 2007 Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint File Formats. Download it from here: http://office.microsoft.com/search/redir.aspx?AssetID=DC101298101033&CTT=5&Origin=HA100141071033

There is a way. When you save the Excel file on Office 2007, If you want Office 2003 to read it you have to save it as a .xls file. To do this you go to File>Save As and Select Excel 97-2003 Workbook. Hope this helped.

If you are using excel 2007, you should save your file in *.xls format, otherwise you will not able to open in older version of excel

ms office 2007 has an option to save the excel files which can be opened in previous versions, it has backward compatibilties.

When u have the made the excep file, then just click on file, SAVE AS,

You save it as a file format that the older versions can read, or if you use an older version you can download a compatibility pack here.
