Favorite Answer

1) 2(16+x) = x + 36 1/2

2) Let Jenny's age be x.
2x-5 = 3(x-5)

3) x/4 + 7 = -31

1. 2(16+n) = n + 32 1/2. Distribute.
32+2n=n+32.5. Combine the N's.
32+n=32.5. Subtract 32.
n=.5 or 1/2.
Then check the work.

2. a=Jenny's age.
2a-5 = 3(a-5). Distribute.
2a-5 = 3a- 15. Combine the a's.
-5=a-15. Add 15.
10=a.
Check the work.

3. (n/4) + 7 = -31. Subtract 7.
(n/4) = -38. Multiply by 4.
n= -152.
Check the work.

Hope this helped!

2(16+x)=x+36.5

2j=3j-5

x/4+7=-31

those are your equations

32+2x=x+36.5
-32
2x=x+4.5
-x
x=4.5

2j=3j-5
subtract 3j
-j=-5
divide by -1
j=5

x/4+7=-31
-7
x/4=-38
times by 4
x=-152

HEY ON INDIESKY SHE put 32.5 NOT 36.5
