Why is it that couples have kids and then still spend all their energy on themselves? I am talking about the parents that vacation without their kids, buy the adult toys they want and the kids get screwed on occasions like Christmas, etc...
I know a few parents who buy things like new equipment for their band and the kids get dollar store items for christmas. And parents who take vacations and never take their kids - ugh... My child is my life 100%...

I don't know any of these parents you are talking about.Obviously some are selfish.But most people have children because they want to have them.And love them.

What you are talking about is balance. Couples with kids should and are entitled to take a vacation without their kids. But this setup should not be exclusive - meaning that these couples should also alternate with vacations WITH their kids.
Couples who take all of their vacations with their kids are neglecting their relationship!
Buying adult toys and neglecting the kids at Christmas...that's odd. lol.
It depends on the circumstances. Maybe the parents do not want the kids to have Playstations because the parents believe it is "bad" for their kids. Maybe the parents prefer hands-on creative activities or sports is healthier for their children then action figures.
I've never met a kid who got nothing for Christmas while their parents exchanged adult toys.... odd....
