I need to install a new hotwater heater currently I have a gas one. 2 questions do they make one that will work for an entire house I have 3 bathrooms and a kitchen sink or do they have to installed in each room? next question how expensive are they to purchase and have installed?

Yes, you can get a tankless unit that will be adequate for a house. They are not cheap, but over time they will save you energy/money since you are not keeping 40 gallons of water hot 24/7. Cost will vary considerably with locality. Call your local Lowes or Home Depot. They will likely sell and install.
The Bosch Aquastar tankless units at Lowes sell for about $700 - $1000.

They do make a single unit for your entire house, a dealer will show you what model you'll need. The units themselves are not terribly expensive, but the installation costs are why I ended up staying with a gas water heater. It would be a pretty tough install to do yourself, if that's even an option.

A tankless water heater is nothing more than a high wattage heating element stuck into a wide spot in the water line.
I would not recommend them. They are electric, which much less efficient than a gas water heater. If you want to save energy, wrap you water heater with some insulation and wherever you have exposed hot water lines in the attic or basement, wrap the with styrefoam insulation.
I don't you will be happy with a tankless water heater if you have any demand for hot water.

i put one in my house its 2.5 bathroom just a one and it works gr8 it only takes 20 seconds and the water get real warm my gas bill was like 40 and now its like 20 and the gas company replaced my meter 2 times until I showed them the water heater-- they cost depending on how fast you want it mine was 1399 and has a 5 year warrenty not hard to install at all
