Is anyone considering quitting yahoo answers due to the new noise making advertisements?

I have recently noticed noise coming from the page, when I am answering questions in yahoo answers.
Since I am usually using my computer to listen to music, I find this rather annoying.
I am considering not continuing to use yahoo answers.

Is anyone else considering this?

I even attempted to hit what looked like a "pause" and it turned out to be a link which started to bring up a new page (which I quickly killed).
Is this a misleading way to get advertisement "hits" to increase their revenue?

I got lucky.

I use a dial-up connection mainly, so video almost never has a chance to load at my end.

Still, just from the sheer level of annoyance I'm seeing from other people, it's made me put the GAP on my Ignore List in terms of spending money, along with Wal-Mart, Coldstone Creamery, and so on...

Basically, Yahoo will never get the point. They are paid not to.

The only way this is going to change anything is if you cut the sponsor themselves off. Boycott the GAP, refuse any Christmas presents originating from there, and just generally make your displeasure known *offline* in the real in public.

When the sponsor loses money, they'll stop. Seriously.

Hope this helps. Sorry life is so annoying lately.

You can download a advertisements blocker.

I have Firefox with the add-on Adblock Plus and for extra protection Adblock Plus: Element Hiding Helper

I have never seen a pop up or ad of ANY kind since i used this since August 2007

All free!

Get Norton's or something that comes with ad blocking. There's always the odd ad that isn't blocked but nothing from Answers. There are probably some good programs you can use for free - but of course you'll want to research them before you download.

Yes, I am getting sick of hearing the advertisments too. I am also considering not using Yahoo! Answers anymore also. Why the hell is it automatic anyway ? If someone wanted to see what it was it should be clickable and only clickable in order for it to play.

Er !! We shouldn't even have to hit the mute button nor pause it !
