8 or 16 game playoff system. Seed the teams 1-8 or 1-16 and put them in a bracket just like the NCAA basketball tourney. Just assign a bowl game to each round. Keep the other random bowl games for the teams that don't make the tourney.

BCS is BS. A computer cannot tell us who deserves to play for the national title. The computer said Ohio State was #1 and Florida was #2 last year, and Ohio State got CRUSHED in the title game.
Boise State should have played for the national title last year! The only undefeated team, and look at what they did to Oklahoma! Some of the best football plays of all time were in that game as they did those trick plays in the final minutes with the game on the line.
College football needs at least 8 playoff teams in my opinion, with a 1 vs. 8 2 vs. 7 etc first round, a 1/8 vs. 4/5, 2/7 vs. 3/6. 2nd round, and then the title game. That's 3 weeks and it would be so much more fair.

Lets everyone be real for a minute. If your team is not playing for a National Championship you are always going to complain. When we used the Bowl season to decide the National Champion every one complained when there team was not the NO.1 team. You could put 65 teams in there and there are still going to be 64 teams fans complaining about who is Champion and who should have won it if? Lets just except the fact that if you are not in a BCS conference and you do not win all your games you are pretty much out of it unless you are LSU....
