This is the wrong forum.

Look on antique jewelry forums - you may be able to identify the store or designer, giving you a more detailed location to start with.

Also look in Family Tree websites - you have to find Sam Bagby as though he is your long lost uncle. Start asking folks named Bagby :)

Finally, the gavel is a clue - he was probably sworn in or retired as a judge or some sort of legal association at that time. But where?

Query the OK bar Association for a Sam Bagby back then. Also ask if there is or was a judge's association that you can contact. Maybe someone there will recognize the abbreviation.

Don;t give the ring to anyone until you can verify through many sources who Sam was and the relationship to the person.

In my own family, I can't even guess how many people would be on the lower family tree of someone who was an adult in 1936 and AFIK none of my family has tons of kids in any generation.

Sam might easily have thousands or even 10s of thousands of descendants by now is what I am saying - "giving the ring to the family" might be hard to do, because the family will be so spread out they never heard of most of it.

Enjoy the chase though and hope you meet some interesting and nice people along the way.
