Just recently on EWTN, there was a special mass for this great man, all of his documents and other items, were sealed in a box and was sent to Rome. There is a strong chance he might be a saint soon. How do you feel about that, should he be a saint?

The mass was held at St. Mary's Of the Immaculate Conception in Peoria, Illinois.

If you are referring to miracles, two of them have been verified, he needs one more, I would recommend reading his profile on Wikapedia.

Question: "What are Christian saints according to the Bible?" ALL BELIEVERS ARE SAINTS WHO FOLLOW GOD. FROM MY GREEK FAITH. Zena
EXCELLENT DESCRIPTION IN WHO ARE CHRISTIAN SAINTS ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE Answer: The word saint comes from the Greek word "hagios" which means “consecrated to God, holy, sacred, pious." It is almost always used in the plural, “saints.” "…Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he did to Your saints at Jerusalem" (Acts 9:13). "Now as Peter was traveling through all those regions, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda" (Acts 9:32). "And this is just what I did in Jerusalem; not only did I lock up many of the saints in prisons … “(Acts 26:10). There is only one instance of the singular use and that is "Greet every saint in Christ Jesus…" (Philippians 4:21). In Scripture there are 67 uses of the plural “saints” compared to only one use of the singular word “saint.” Even in that one instance, a plurality of saints is in view “…every saint…” (Philippians 4:21).
The idea of the word “saint” is a group of people set apart for the Lord and His kingdom. There are three references referring to godly character of saints; "that you receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints …" (Romans 16:2). "For the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12). "But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints" (Ephesians 5:3).
Therefore, Scripturally speaking, the “saints” are the body of Christ, Christians, the church. All Christians are considered saints. All Christian are saints…and at the same time are called to be saints. 1 Corinthians 1:2 states it clearly, “To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy…” The words “sanctified” and “holy” come from the same Greek root as the word that is commonly translated “saints.” Christians are saints by virtue of their connection with Jesus Christ. Christians are called to be saints, to increasingly allow their daily life to more closely match their position in Christ. This is the Biblical description and calling of the saints. In the Bible, everyone who has received Jesus Christ by faith is a saint.
Should Bishop Sheen be Cannonized. NO. Should we pray to saints. NO. Should the pope beautify and canonize saints NO Should we worship saints. NO
I pray to our Father . YHWH who was JESUS (manifested in Flesh NO ONE ELSE
All people in Heaven are saints. The Catholic Church recognizes people who have served God and His Chuch well by canonizing them. These saints are people we should admire and people we should imitate to follow Christ better.
Bishop Sheen, one of my heroes, was a man who brought people of many faiths together as well as bringing back Catholics who have left the Church.
He is an great rolemodel and a great example of a saint.
So if he is canonized, Bishop Sheen would become my patron saint, along whit John Paul II when he is canonized also.
Note to Anti-Catholic answerers: Catholics do NOT worship saints. We worship GOD ALONE. Do your homework if you are going to talk about something you don't know anyhting about, like the Catholic Church.
God Bless.
"Trust in Mary and you will know what miracles are."
He was a camera friendly flamboyant speaker, truly the Billy Sunday of the Catholic church a few years back. If the Catholics want to canonize him- then they should. Certainly no non-Catholic would object. I don't. But the Catholics should alway keep in mind that the Bible calls all those, who trust Jesus finished work on the cross, a saint.
