Why doesn't the bible contain verses that forbid priests from harming children?

WHY ARE YOU TALKING LIKE ITS ALL PRIESTS, THERE ARE BAD APPLES IN EVERY BARREL. EVEN WHEN YOU SIN YOU ARE THEN THE BAD APPLE. 

JESUS WOULD SAY TO YOU, 

"TAKE THE BEAM OUT OF YOUR OWN EYE, BEFORE TRYING TO REMOVE A SPLINTER IN YOUR FELLOW MANS EYE"

THE MERCY YOU SHOW ONTO OTHERS, IS THE SAME MERCY THAT WILL BE SHOWN YOU ON JUDGMENT DAY!!!

It does.  Read the ten commandments - your query is covered by Thou shalt not commit adultery - all sexual sins come in the same category.  Even if this were not covered by an actual separate commandment every human being knows that doing what some of them have done to children is against God's laws.  However, many priests are 'in the church' purely to please their parents who promised to offer one of their sons to God.  A man should 'choose' to be celibate, nor told they must be because parents made a promise on their son's behalf.  It's a cruel religion i.m.o.

Laws do not truly deter evil people. Jesus said you will know them by their fruits, and molesting/harming children indicates a wolf in sheep's clothing in a situation like this.

It does! Fornication is ANY sexual contact that is done outside of marriage. The following scriptures show that fornication is not acceptable: 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10 and Acts 15:29. As regard physical abuse, in Galatians 5:19-23, which attributes would you say a person possess if they would beat up a kid: Does it show self control or fits of anger? As regards verbal abuse, what does Ephesians 4:31 say?

It forbids any sexual contact outside of marriage. It doesn't have to specify priests, ministers, rabbis, teachers, coaches, scout leaders, or the occupations of any other child molesters. Such a general teaching obviously applies to the 1 priest out of 500 who has such a problem.

It has multiple verses that forbid any sexual relations outside of marriage between a man and a woman.  That would include priest harming children.  There is no specific verse on that very limited area of sexual abuse because it is tiny compared to all the other sexual abuse out there.  

Currently there are 414,313 Catholic priest in the world.  Of those only about 1,700 have had an type of an accusation made against them world wide.  Compare that number to 734,630 non-priest in the US convicted of rape last year in the US alone, and you see that the abuse by priest is a small number by comparison.  

So God made a law that includes ALL the abuse. not just that by priest.  Why write a law that only covers 1,700 cases instead of millions?  That would be writing a law that says "No drunk driving" and another that says "No driving if you are drunk on vodka."  The first law covers it. so why would you need the second law?

Although there are no specific scriptures, there are plenty of Bible PRINCIPLES that should deter a person from harming anyone, including children. The Bible is not a book of rules, but rather principles that we must use out thinking ability to meditate on and apply. 

Of course it does! Have you never read the warning Jesus gave to priests in His day about harming little children? It's in Matthew 18:6-10. They are heading for hell, Jesus stated (& not just priests.) If that doesn't forbid them sufficiently, nothing else will!

The real problem is, they need to be told.

It is covered under Canon law. It actually does, the issue is that enforcement is required by law enforcement since the religion is found in different countries with different government structures.

They cannot enforce a government under the religion.  That was left in history.
