Travel from Singapore to Hat Yai?

I need to travel from Singapore to Hat Yai very often (prob once every 2 weeks over the weekend) I know you can take buses from Singapore to Hat Yai but the journey is too long (about 12 hours) for a weekend trip. Does anyone know a faster way there? No direct flight there and a transit thru bangkok flight takes about 6 hours as well.

Thanks for any advice

You are right. No direct flights from SIN. With roadside bombings and daily killings, no-one wants to go there too often. 9 roadside bombs exploded when I was contemplating a stopover at Hatyai.

It used to take 20 hrs when there was no north south highway. The other option then is to take overnight train to Penang and take a taxi from there. Not much time saved but more comfortable.

Try to find the most comfortable coach to keep your misery down. Reward yourself with a nice body massage at a discount by buying vouchers for massage as well as for accommodation. Get some prescription sleeping pills at Hatyai. You will wake up just in time when the bus arrives at either end.
