Why is that Arabs can become citizens of Israel whilst the Israelis and Jews can't be citizens in Arab .....

.... and Muslim countries?
Arabs in Israel are called the Arab-Israelis and they are over a million of them. Because of them Arabic became the 2nd official language in Israel along with Hebrew, English and Russian. So if they can live in Israel, why can't the Israelis live in Arab countries?

The Mizrachi Jews from Arab countries are considered Israelis. Whoever answer this question by saying all Arab-Israelis are Jews from Arab countries is not all true. Go and search in flickr.com and type Arab-Israelis. You'll find lots of Arab-Israeli women in burqa or veil. That's what Moslem women wear. I don't think Mizrachi Jewish women would wear that.

For two main reasons, neither having to do with Apartheid: (QUICK NOTE: Druze Arabs are drafted into the IDF, so your claim isn't entirely accurate.) -Firstly, this way, Israeli Arabs are not forced into situations where they may have to fight, and even kill, their Arab cousins. -Secondly, despite being Israeli citizens, many Arab-Israelis are hostile to the country, and wouldn't hesitate to turn over information they learn from the IDF to its enemies (tactics, training, troop positions, etc.) However, if they so choose, Arabs can serve, though they are not legally compelled. Often however, Arabs who do join the IDF are harassed by their fellow Arabs and therefore choose to remain anonymous when giving interviews, etc. I'm not quite sure what about this system suggests that Israel is an Apartheid country.

Because Israel is a democracy, while many of the arab countries are not. As being a democracy, Israel gives equality to all people, without difference of religion, race, or gender.
On the other hand, some of the arab countries will not accept Israelis, or even jews just because their religion, the same way women are sometimes treated there.

Firstly, that isn't quite true. Syria- possibley the worst enemy Israel's ever had- has a population of roughly 10,000 Jews (Semetic Jews- not European or American Jews whose genetic makeup has been altered by intermarrige- not that I'm putting down intermarrige).
The real issue isn't with the Jews, it's with the Israelies.

Jasmine,

Perhaps one day when all the political and territorial issues get sorted out and a few decades pass, Jewish people might be able to live in Arab countries.

I know there are still a few Jewish people living in Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Tunis, Algeria and Morocco.

Sincerely,

Ms. Miche ; })
