I know it says instructions for a motherboard but I cant find any on cooling fan replacement. Any tips?

Do you under stand Swedish? (I think it is, not sure! lol!) These vid's break it down, for a Toshiba,(what laptop is this in reference to?)

Go to the bottom of your link's page. Click on Home. On this page go down to the bottom again, and click on Notebook Repair Directory. On this page click on, G. Notebook Repair Manuals. Now if this is a reference to a Toshiba laptop, things get a little downhill. Toshiba doesn't seem to like to give access to their Service and Maintenance Manuals. You've been at the top link listed, irisvista.com, try the next one down, Insidemylaptop.com, and Repair4laptop, Laptop Manuals, eServiceInfo.com, Service Manual.net.
Look on YouTube.com. The above vid link kinda' blows, but if your laptop is a Toshiba,(and near the age of this laptop version), some of this vid could help. Perhaps you could drop me an email with the maker, and model of your laptop, ( just click on my avatar, and then email Chickster. Goes thru Yahoo Answers, and doesn't reveal either one of our actual email add's)

The fan is attached to the motherboard by an arm, which at the end of the arm is a thermal pad that is attached to the motherboard. This controls the fan as to when to turn on and off at a certain heating and cooling temperature.

If the laptop is under warranty, use it. (usually 1 year)
If its out of warranty you have 2 options
1. try and replace it yourself (if you can find the right fan).
2. take it to a computer repair shop and have it done.
Laptops are very compact and can be tricky to get apart, also if you do it yourself you may end up with extra screws you forgot to put back in. If you do attempt to fix it work on a clean surface like the kitchen table with a light colored tablecloth, that way if you drop any screws or pieces you can easily find them.

ok just take it to where you bought it and tell them. i have the exact same laptop as the one in that guide. i had to get my mobo replaced because my laptop wouldnt power on. i took it back to bestbuy and they sent it to toshiba and toshiba fixed it for me and sent it back.
